(2026_05_06) - Understanding the Historical and Spiritual Progression of Revivals in the Church - Pastor Israel Ajiboye

In this episode, we took an in-depth look at the journey and progression of revivals in helping us understand why believers must not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, as instructed in Ephesians 4:14. We learned that the devil has established doctrines within every system of the world, which is why believers must remain fully persuaded and grounded in the Lord. Even though the world may oppose or hate the believer, we were encouraged to remain bold and unashamed of our faith.We also reflected on the challenges faced by early believers, especially during periods when Christians could not gather openly because of persecution. In examining Church history, we discussed notable figures such as Clement of Rome, Martin Luther, and John Calvin, highlighting their contributions to the advancement of the Christian faith and the preservation of doctrine.Furthermore, we explored significant revival movements such as the Azusa Street Revival, which played a major role in restoring the acts of speaking in tongues to the Church. Through the sacrifices and labor of many faithful men and women across generations, the Church has continued to progress in light and understanding. Because of this, our pastor cautioned us not to become prideful when exposed to greater revelation, as receiving more light does not make one superior to others with lesser understanding. Without the labor and sacrifices of previous generations, many of the truths we now enjoy would not have been accessible to us.We also spoke extensively about Kenneth E. Hagin, a man greatly used by God, who testified that Jesus appeared to him eight times to teach him the Scriptures. Particular attention was given to one of his prophecies during the 1988 camp meeting, and we briefly discussed how aspects of that prophecy relate to present-day realities within the Church and the world.Finally, we emphasized that every new light or revelation given by God is meant to lead us into deeper knowledge and intimacy with Him. As believers, we should never become complacent with only one level of understanding of God. Instead, we must continually hunger and press for more, allowing God to reveal Himself to us increasingly.
