In this episode, our pastor took an in-depth look at the biblical distinctions between man’s spirit, soul, and body. We saw that understanding this and becoming aware of it experientially is necessary to fulfill God’s purpose for man.We began by establishing that the true definition of God is not based on what He has done. He is more than a Creator or a Helper of our needs. Rather, He is an eternal spirit. We also saw how God has a soul with which he delights or hates things. Man, who was created in God’s image, must therefore be a spirit who has a soul.Additionally, we saw that the spirit and soul take on different roles based on their natures. The soul can be likened to a sheep that must be governed by the spirit to come into the fullness of life in God. We learned that the soul is likened to a storehouse into which all we are exposed to on a daily basis goes.
