(2026_07_29) - Understanding Faith 4: Believing God’s Word to Receive from Him - Pastor Israel Ajiboye

In this episode, we continue our discussion on the importance of faith in the life of a believer. Faith is a journey, and the more understanding we gain of the Word of God, the more faith we are able to birth forth.As seen in Mark 11:24, receiving our desires is different from having them. The devil often fights against our receiving what we have believed God for. However, it is important to understand how this Scripture should be applied. Sometimes, we use Bible verses to claim things that depend on the will or decision of another person, but that is not an appropriate application of faith. The Scripture says, “What things soever ye desire” (Mark 11:24), not whatever another person desires. We cannot use faith to override the will of someone else. This is why we cannot use faith to claim another person as our husband or wife, because that decision involves their own will and choice.The process of walking in faith begins with having the Word of God, believing the Word of God, and then refusing to consider circumstances that contradict what God has said. Faith does not mean that we deny what we see or how we feel. Rather, faith means that we refuse to allow what we see or feel to determine what we believe. Our feelings are real, but they should not dictate how we interpret or respond to the Word of God. Faith is not founded on human feelings; it is founded on what the Word of God says.We also discussed the difference between the indwelling and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, both of which are received by faith. The indwelling of the Holy Ghost occurs at the new birth. When a person is born again, the Holy Ghost comes to dwell within their spirit. The infilling, however, refers to being baptized with the Holy Ghost in the soul. Ultimately, when it comes to the things of God, we need faith. Therefore, we must be diligent in giving ourselves continually to the Word of God. As we grow in our understanding of His Word, our faith is strengthened, enabling us to believe God, receive and have the results of what He has promised.
