203 - He Who Sins Is Of The Devil

Overview – He Who Sins Is Of The Devil. 1 John 3:4-9. In our sermon today we studied a very confusing section of scripture, in fact one of the hardest sections of scripture to understand in the entire Bible. Why is this a hard section to understand? Look at just a couple of statements that John makes in this section. John declares in vs 6 “Whoever abides in Him does not sin.” And in Vs. 8 “the person who sins is of the devil.” Taking these scriptures at face value, the Bible says that everyone sins, which means that nobody abides in Christ, and everyone is from the devil, which in turn means that nobody is gonna be saved, but can that really be true? What about Christ’s death on the cross that is supposed to cleanse the sinner from their sins and make them clean before God spiritually. How does this apply if everyone who sins doesn’t abide in Jesus Christ, and is of the devil? The Bible says that no one that is of the devil will be saved. Do you see why this section of scripture is very confusing and difficult to understand? Well anyway, I go through this scripture very meticulously, and use a valuable Biblical resource to help us understand what John is really saying in this passage.
