204 - The Devils

We head on over to Loudon to see just what all this fuss is about regarding Father Grandier and Sister Agnes in Ken Russell’s controversial 1971 film “The Devils”. Myke from CineMusts joins the 1001 by 1 crew to discuss this long awaited episode (and mini tribute to Ian): the historical context and background of the film, our connection to Ken Russell, and what it is that rubs Adam the wrong way about Father Barre. Also, this week Britt recommends “Alucarda” (currently on The Criterion Channel and YouTube), Joey recommends “Benedetta” (free on The Roku Channel), Adam recommends “Women in Love”, and Myke recommends “Killer Nun” (free on Pluto).
