He walked with them, and talked with them, and reinforced all He had taught them. And now He was more fully equipping them, and all who would see Him in His resurrected body. In this section of scripture we reach a turning point in all of our study of The Gospel of John as it is the monumental beginning of The New Covenant. It's the foundation for the beginning of The Holy Spirit's work in the life of these soon to be 'new testament believers'. The Holy Spirit was promised in John 14:16-17. The Great Commission was yet to come, but first, they must be empowered by the baptism of The Holy Spirit. True for them and all Christian believers to come.
