Darryl Henson - May 2, 2026 - We learn that the Days of Unleavened Bread teach us to remove sin from our lives just as Israel removed leaven, remembering God’s deliverance and keeping His law continually before our eyes. As Paul explains, leaven represents sin that spreads if not confronted, so we must address wrongdoing within our community and within ourselves before it corrupts more broadly. Through examples of church discipline and Christ’s warning about the “leaven of the Pharisees,” we are reminded that sin—whether cultural, habitual, or openly practiced—must be dealt with firmly and sincerely. This festival calls us to approach God with truth, vigilance, and a commitment to rooting out anything that separates us from Him.
