Red Deer, Alberta is now home to the large solar system on a college in Canada. Red Deer College started with a modest goal of generating 20% of their own electricity and now has a 1.6-megawatt solar system, an alternative energy lab and when combined with their new 1-megawatt cogeneration system generates 66% of their own electricity right on campus.
