207 - Gretchen Tegtman - Continuing The Legacy

from Sew Much More

The Sew Much More Podcast is sponsored by;   The Workroom Channel   Scarlet Thread Consulting   The WCAA   Helser Brothers, Inc   The Curtains and Soft Furnishings Resource Library   Merril Y Landis, LTD   Gretchen Tegtman loves to design Window Treatments! When she was little, her Mom (Nancy) would do a lot of crafts and Gretchen's job was to put the fabrics together. So I guess you could say she's been doing this nearly all her life! When they moved from Miami, FL to Fayetteville, GA, Nancy went into this business (with Dianne - hence the name!). Nancy did most of the Installations in those days and Gretchen got to help out - just what you want to be doing as a teenager, right?!  :)  But what she has learned is that it gives her a unique perspective on all aspects of creating Window Treatments - the Design, the Fabrication & the Installation!   Gretchen & Nancy owned Lady Dianne's Custom Window & Bed Treatments together for 26 years. They were always finding inspiration in the International Window Covering Expos around the country and their trips abroad. Unfortunately in 2019, on one of their design travels, Nancy passed away unexpectedly.   Gretchen is proud to continue her Mom's legacy while taking it in new (& bigger!) directions.    Gretchen loves color & sparkle, and is great at incorporating those into your Window Treatment and Bedding designs. She loves to travel and finds design inspiration in all kinds of places. She has been to the London Design Center and the Danish Design Center to see what the up & coming trends will be in the US in the next few years.   Gretchen also loves turtles, 80's music, old movies and Disney! And after going to Australia is now obsessed with Koalas too!   You can find Gretchen on Facebook and Instagram.
