208 - Don McLean This interview with Don McLean took place in 2011 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the classic song “American Pie” and the American Pie LP and on the 8th year anniversary of The Paul Leslie Hour. Don McLean talks in great detail about the album and his perspectives on songwriting. This interview is being presented 60 years after "The Day the Music Died," a tragic, historical event where 3 rock and roll musicians: Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens and pilot Roger Peterson were all lost in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa.
