Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.— 2 Corinthians 1:3–4This episode marks four years of the Quiet Place Podcast — happy birthday, Quiet Place listeners!A recent conversation with writer and coach Ann Kroeker brought me back to my earliest days of faith. We talked about how writing helps us make sense of life. I shared about the morning after I gave my life to Jesus at 18 years old — when I first understood I had been created and that God had a purpose for me. As someone who feels deeply, life can get dark without guidance and assurance. But knowing I was made on purpose changed everything.Years later, through music, my book We Take Our Turns, online gatherings, and this podcast, I still hope to share the comfort I’ve received from God. It almost always begins with an open Bible and a pen in my hand.I still require a lot of comfort, but I’ve learned that’s okay — because God isn’t in short supply. He is the God of all comfort.
