208 - Should Cherries Be Approaching This A DIFFERENT Way?

from Back Of The Net - The AFC Bournemouth Podcast · host Back of the Net - The AFC Bournemouth Podcast

Whilst the 6-1 loss at Manchester City will not be the yardstick upon which AFC Bournemouth will be measured this season, there does come a point where fans might question whether a more pragmatic style might be more profitable whilst we're in the infancy of adopting Iraola's "rock and roll" brand of football. A lot has changed very quickly at Dean Court, and although it is clear that Cherries have a distinct plan for the future, currently the league table suggests that the style adjustment, when twinned with the squad's own evolution, has meant that it is somewhat of a slow burner. After 11 games, Bournemouth are in the relegation zone, and Luton are not. One side has a head coach that is stoically sticking to his Basque footballing philosophies with a squad that is aiming to stylistically be antithesis of his predecessor; the other has been pragmatic and purposeful - adopting a siege mentality to get every last drop out of his hard-working players.
