Welcome to your ’50s and ’60s! This season of life is commonly known as the Prime-Time Years of life. In this episode, Dr. Mandy shares tips for patients with scoliosis in their Prime-Time years. She also gives encouragement and guidance on how to advocate for new care. Things to consider in your Prime-Time Years: Pay attention to the little things that negatively impact your life in big ways, such as: it’s harder to pick up your grand kids, osteoporosis, low back pain, trouble with every day movements.It is possible that a diagnosis of scoliosis has been missed through the years. If you have never had x-rays done of your spine, consider going to a provider that is willing to give you an x-ray referral and do a follow-up appointment with them.If the problem or pain goes away, and then comes back a little bit worse and stays longer, that’s a red flag that something significant is going on. Your body is trying to tell you something!Early intervention is important! Don’t wait another five to ten years before getting help. It is NOT normal to experience scoliosis issues as you age.
