Jesus tells the story of the great banquet to communicate that the kin-dom of God is for everyone. You can be offended and leave if you want, but this kin-dom is for gay and straight; for people of all races and cultures; for all genders; it’s for the uneducated as much as it is for the educated; the young, the old; the doubters, the believers, the unsure. They are all invited. Some think they’re not invited because the social rules have communicated that to them.
