21. Drop the Arbitrary Timeline

from Perfectly Whole · host Adrianne Robertson

Happy New Year Sis! As we begin chasing our 2022 goals, I want to encourage us both to drop the arbitrary timelines we've set for ourselves. We can make all the plans and do all the preparation, but an important part of the journey is patience. There's so much to enjoy (and still do) in the waiting season, but if we get caught up in the destination alone, we miss so much in front of us at this present moment. In this episode, I share 4 dangers of placing undeveloped expectations on ourselves (that often stem from childhood... can you imagine upholding an expectation that a 10-year-old has for your 30-year-old life?). But I don't stop there. I also share 4 ways to pivot from those self-imposed timelines and expectations. Looking ahead, Season 3 will lean heavily toward self discovery, while leaving room for the unexpected gems. I hope you'll join me and more importantly, get the inspiration and tools you've been looking for to find your stride! Subscribe Sis... I drop new episodes every week within a season. Oh and have we connected on social yet? The focus is never on what we lack, but on what we have – which is infinite love and provision in God. The goal of every episode is to reassure and remind women of all kinds that God has made us perfectly whole! ~Matthew 14:36~

Whole Faith Marcus & Jessa Myer Welcome to The Whole Faith Podcast, where we go deep into the things of God. We're your hosts, Marcus and Jessa Myer - a husband-and-wife team passionate about pursuing and telling the Truth. The more we study Scripture, the more we experience the ever-growing joy and pleasure found only in Jesus. We’ve been doing ministry together for the past 15 years, and one thing we’ve seen over and over again is that so many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are desperately hungry for a deeper teaching of God’s Word. In each episode, we explore theology, doctrine, and practical wisdom that every believer should have the confidence to pursue. Join us as we uncover essential truths from Scripture and tackle difficult, sometimes controversial questions to provide you with biblical answers. Where the Enemy wants to keep the Church in a place of shallow faith and theological insecurity, our hope is that these conversations will equip you with boldness and assurance! Now, let’s grow deeper together Beyond the Walls Arise Church Beyond the Walls is a podcast based on the conversations beyond a Sunday morning at Arise Church. We will be diving deeper into topics, talking with special guests, and enjoying a whole lot of coffee and Jesus. Thrive Baby Sleep Mac Coward A podcast for families who would like to THRIVE when it comes to sleep. We will cover all things sleep with sprinkles of wifehood and parenthood and a whole lot of Jesus.
