She is the author of The Archive of Loss: Lively Ruination in Mill Land Mumbai published in 2019. Her writing has also appeared in Anthological Quarterly, City and Society, Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology Now, Mondoweiss, Al Jazeera and several other prominent journals. She has an MA in anthropology from Columbia University (2005) and a PhD in anthropology from Stanford University (2012). Despite being a tenured Professor, she was fired for her social media posts in support for Palestinian rights and against Zionism.
