二自北平沦陷，战祸延长，我政府教育当局源于八月中命本校于北大，南开合组临时大学于湖南省会之长沙。其于八月底付相筹备，为某本校原生来乡之便利，商托天津，南京，上海，汉口四处同学会，一方举行登记，一方指导行旅司史也。我校原生家属之来询问其子弟消息者，函电飞驰，依赖各处登记报告，得知行止各处同学会之热心帮助此项工作。至可感佩。长沙临时大学令得校址于湘源圣经学院，乃于十一月一日开学。本校学生道者六百余人，教职员道者百八十余人。烽火连天，弦歌未辍，所以校舍局促，设备缺乏。然仓促得此，亦属姓氏。本校园在长沙河西岳麓山南起建房舍，最初计划原为各研究所在乡工作之用。自三校南来，原由本校扩大，建筑由二所增至六所，预计可于二十七年春间完成，乃敌人破坏计划，见及我后方
