21) Overcoming an Eating Disorder, Managing Type 1 Diabetes, and using your platform for good with Talia Bentley

from CamBro Conversations · host Colin Campbell

Today, we are joined by Talia Bentley who is a full-time Performance Analyst in Professional Football after graduating with a Sport Science alongside an Online Coach for females with Type 1 diabetes We find out about how Talia secured her role at Watford Football Club and some of the experience she gained during University that is applied today. In one of the rawest chats we’ve had on the podcast, Talia tells us about her background in dance and her experiences in battling and ovecoming an eating disorder. We find out how this led to her discovering weight training and a fitness lifestyle that supported her management of her T1 diabetes, as well as the Instagram page that she uses as a positive platform to share information about this. My own understanding of T1 Dibates was almost zero before following Talia so we address misconception with T1 and T2 in terms of genetics and lifestyle choices. This leads into a conversation on management of this condition and the overlap between advice for managing Blood Glucose and general health With such a large platform, we discuss using your social media for positive information in a space where there is a lot of noise. Talia has a lot of strong opinions here and I loved this conversation, it’s a must listen for anyone questioning what they see on social media at times. You are going to laugh when you hear about some of the nonsense that some “influencers” get up to… Connect with Talia: Instagram - www.instagram.com/t1aliabentley Website - www.talia.fitness/ Connect with Colin: Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/col.cambro/
