21. Still Dreaming ft. Ramiro Arte

Welcome back to the PDP (the Proud Disappointment Podcast ) my guest on this episode is a local artist that has been making a name for himself as a painter/illustrator. Ramiro Arte has been one of the most consistent, hard working artists in Chicago, constantly painting and putting himself out there I appreciate him taking the time out of his busy life to record a pod. Ramiro tells me what it’s like juggling a full time job and being a painter. How he grew up and his mother influenced him to be an artist but still dealing with immigrant mindsets needed to have a back up plan. I met Ramiro at Sentrocks Studio he hosted a pop up and been trying to book him since, he pulled up to Pabs & Pals 5 with a huge piece that sold immediately. Right now he has a series showing at Side Practice Coffee and a few more showings this month. I had to reach out to learn a little bit more about him and what he’s thought of our industry. There’s a lot of similarities between Ramiro and I we both had kids young and now have 2. Excuse the first 10 minutes of the pod for geeking out on old Cartoon Network shows but they played a role in how we started.
