💭“80% of patients that walk in an outpatient wound care center are venous stasis ulcers, and those are usually contributed by age, obesity, and some other factors.” - Dr. Scott Newton. 👉🏻 Our guest is Dr. Scott Newton, DPT, PT, OCS, CWS. Newton received his bachelor of science in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1991. In 1998, Newton founded Pulaski Ardmore Physical Therapy with his wife.  In 1999, he received specialty certification as a Wound Care Specialist.  In 2004, Scott received certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist by the APTA. In 2005, he received his doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Dr. Newton is a clinical associate with the American Academy of Wound Care Management and lectures on various topics pertaining to physical therapy and wound care.  Dr. Newton is an adjunct instructor at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee, and Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where he instructs on wound care.
