211.7: 2 #Kings 17-18: What Happens When You Reject #God and His Warnings?

Over and over again, God warned the people of Israel, the northern kingdom, to repent and stop worshiping the idols and pagan gods. He sent Hosea, Amos, Isaiah and other prophets (which we’ll get to eventually) to warn them, but  they refused to listen. They would not change their ways. They were  accustomed to the traditions of the people before them. Since c. 931 BC,  they’ve been at this. That’s when Jeroboam split the tribes of Israel into 2 kingdoms, and made gold calves to keep the people from going to Jerusalem to worship God as they were  supposed to. It’s now c. 720-701 BC and the northern kingdom is about to  be conquered by the Assyrians whom God prepared through Jonah.
