212:1: Isaiah 50-52: Life is Short. Be Thankful with Joy and Gladness!

Have you ever been in a mess of your own making?  Sure there are tough times brought on by natural disasters and our  fallen world. But what about the times when you’ve neglected something,  then realize you shouldn’t have. For instance, with my previous car, I  never really paid attention to the tire pressure. I didn’t realize that  one front tire was getting dangerously low, until as I was merging from  one highway to another, the tire just crumbled. Now, I pay attention and  am grateful for the sensors that warn me when a tire’s pressure is low.  I immediately take it to the garage and have them check it. Isaiah wrote in 700 BC. It was a letter of warning for the Jews. The  Babylonians wouldn’t invade for another hundred years. You’d think that  the people of Isaiah’s day would have warned the next generation to obey  God and His commandments.  They didn’t and the whole city of Jerusalem paid for their sins.
