Jesuit Brother Guy Consolmagno SJ is Director of the Vatican Observatory. His research studies the physical properties of meteorites and asteroids. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he received SB and SM degrees from MIT, and a PhD in Planetary Sciences from the University of Arizona. He has served as an officer in the International Astronomical Union, the American Astronomical Society, and the Meteoritical Society.
