#213 Isaiah 36-39

Day 213 of the podcast, reading Isaiah 36-39 NET, read along at: https://netbible.org/bible/Isaiah+36-39/ This is day 213 of our journey. Today's reading is a retelling of the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah that was recorded in 2 Kings 18-20. It tells of the pride of the Assyrian king, deriding the God of Judah as inept. Isaiah brings God's message of deliverance over Assyria. We also read of the end of Hezekiah's life as He was sick and dying, he called out to the Lord and God graciously extended his life another 15 years. During those 15 years, Hezekiah's pride got him into trouble when he revealed all the treasures of the nation to envoys from Babylon. Join me in Isaiah 36-39 to read of the life of Hezekiah. Key verses: Isaiah 36:13 The chief adviser then stood there and called out loudly in the Judahite dialect, “Listen to the message of the great king, the king of Assyria. Isaiah 37:14 Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the Lord’s temple and spread it out before the Lord. Isaiah 38:20 The Lord is about to deliver me, and we will celebrate with music for the rest of our lives in the Lord’s temple.” Isaiah 39:6 ‘Look, a time is coming when everything in your palace and the things your ancestors have accumulated to this day will be carried away to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord.
