213: The Summer that Almost Wasn't

from Play Your Position

Loss can be one of our greatest teachers. This summer wasn't supposed to be the way it was because last December, I sat next to my mom in a hospital room and took notes as she planned her funeral. None of us expected her to make it to the new year. But she did, and the summer that almost wasn't became the summer that was. _ During my break this year here at the lake, I've made time to reflect about the power loss can have on our lives, how we can use it for accelerated growth, and how gratitude and grief can exist side by side in our hearts. Life is always pushing forward. It's up to each of us to decide if we will be a part of it or not. I recorded this bonus episode while paddling my kayak on the last day of my vacation this year.
