214 - Safe

This week we find ourselves leaving our 21st Century allergies in Los Angeles for the seclusion of a treatment center known as Wrenwood to discuss the Todd Hayne’s film “Safe”. Join the 1001 by 1 crew as we discuss the plethora of themes this movie delves into (gender, race, affluence, etc.), the wonderful aesthetics that help bring these themes to life, and the truly staggering Julianne Moore performance dominating every frame. Also, this week Britt recommends “Resurrection”(currently on The Criterion Channel), Joey recommends “Point Break” (free on Tubi & available on tons of streaming services), and Adam recommends “The Drama” (currently in theatres).
