The dental hygiene student is tasked with understanding general pathology to develop a foundational knowledge of the disease etiology, pathogenisis, morphologic changes, and clinical manifestation of disease. In this episode, we will cover general pathology and how it relates to periodontal disease. We will review modifiable and non-modifiable risks associated with diseases.
