216 - Daisies

This week we head to the kaleidoscopic world of 1960s Czechoslovakia and ponder over what Marie and Marie are getting up to in Věra Chytilová’s “Daisies”. Join the 1001 by 1 crew as they discuss the many themes in this film (probably not all of them), the wild and captivating co-lead performances, and what it means to be a “butterfly guy”. Also, this week Joey recommends “La Chimera” (available on Hulu & Disney+), Adam recommends “Smoke Signals” (free on YouTube), and Britt recommends “Valerie and her Week of Wonders” (currently on The Criterion Channel).
