Why We Keep Starting Over Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind tells you what you're not? "I'm not disciplined enough.""I'm not consistent enough.""I'm failing.""I'm behind." In this episode, I'm sharing a pattern I lived in for years during my own weight-loss journey: proving and hiding. When I believed something was wrong with me, I would either: • Prove myself by searching for another diet, another cleanse, or another set of rules. OR • Hide by avoiding the scale, stopping my meal plan, and overeating to feel better. What I eventually realized is that both behaviors were fueled by the same belief: "Something is wrong with me." In this episode, we'll discuss how these thoughts create emotional pain, why overeating often becomes a solution to that pain, and how to return to a place of safety, truth, and peace with God. If you've ever felt stuck in the cycle of trying harder, giving up, and starting over again, this episode is for you. In This Episode You'll Learn: • The difference between proving and hiding• The hidden belief that often fuels overeating• Why more food rules don't create lasting peace• How shame drives both restriction and overeating• Four practical steps to return to safety when you feel stuck• How God's kindness leads us toward lasting change Questions From This Episode: • Am I trying to prove something?• Am I hiding from something?• What am I believing right now?• Is this thought creating peace or panic?• What is my next faithful step? Scripture Mentioned: Proverbs 23:7"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he." Romans 8:1"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 2:4"It is God's kindness that leads us to repentance." Connect With Me If this episode encouraged you, please subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend.
