#217: Responding to questions

from 1912 Exiles

Ed and Ollie are the men behind the mic for this one. Under the clunky title of "Responding to questions", we do a cut-and-shunt pod. In Part 1 over a pint in the Riverside Sports Bar (the home of Welsh sports fans) we consider how County responded to the questions posed by Bradford being reduced to ten men early in the first half on Saturday. Then, in Part 2, we give some snap analysis after Tuesday night's Q&A session with the Trust and with County chairman Huw Jenkins... Was a clean sheet, a point and retaining momentum in #FightbackFebrurary worth the lack of entertainment value or attacking ambition on Saturday? And what does the open meeting tell us about the club's relationship with the Dragons, the long-term plan for our academy youth, or the future of Nelson Jardim? We consider all these points and more! We'll be back in ten days' time to review the Cheltenham and Doncaster games, hopefully with a full panel. In the meantime, make sure you join the Supporters' Trust if you're not already a member. We remain grateful to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme tune. If you like what we do, please consider dropping us the price of a cup of Bovril via our ko-fi page to help with the pod's running costs.Be good to yourselves and each other, and above all Keep It County! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Are they revolutionary thinkers or just grifters with delusions of grandeur? Join us and let's find out! In Darkest England and the Way Out by William Booth Mentor New York William Booth (1829 – 1912) was the founding General of the Salvation Army in late nineteenth century England. Finding his salvation as a teenager, he went on to become one of the most controversial and, ultimately, well-loved and respected social reformers of his day. Published in 1890 amidst the turmoil of the death of his beloved wife, Catherine, “In Darkest England” was hailed as a revolutionary approach to coping with the social ills facing Great Britain at the time. Although 130 years old, this revolutionary book of Victorian England still has much to say of note today. - Summary by Tom Hirsch
