217 - Rising Star - David Malukas Has Strong Runner-Up Finish at Road America

Christian Lundgaard might have parked his car in victory lane this past weekend at Road America, but he had an epic journey to get there. Our resident open wheeler Conor Day was in Elkhart Lake taking in the action, and he's back on Speed Street this week to recap the race. He and Producer Bobby discuss Christian's lap one contact with Scott Dixon, his heroic drive through the field, Alex Palou's pit road trouble and Marcus Armstrong's tragic engine failure. Also, silly season is ramping up as Felix Rosenqvist announces that he won't be returning to Meyer Shank Racing in 2027. Road America's runner-up finisher David Malukas joins the show to speak on his great performance in 2026 and his time so far with Team Penske. David reflects on a difficult second place finish at this year's Indianapolis 500, and how he's learning a lot from his Penske teammates Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin.
