218 and 219 Ashley Ave

218 Ashley Ave the Church of the Holy Communion. This congregation was organized in 1848 in the home of the Rev. Nathaniel Bowen. The commandant of the nearby Federal Arsenal was present and offered a room at the Arsenal fro the purpose of worship.  219 Ashley Ave Henry Buck was a German grocer who built a two and a half story wooden store and residence. Buck was an ardent horseman who raced horses on Wagners racetrack at the Grove.
