22.09 Contending for the Faith (Part 1)

Craig and LaDonna enter into a new series they are calling, Contending for the Faith,  which is found in the third verse of Jude in the New Testament.  The Smiths now turn their attention to the important role of Church leaders to not only teach and present sound doctrine, but at the same time stand against any kind of false teaching that can and does invade churches and God's people even up to today.There has always been false teaching nipping at the heels of Truth, and the Smiths do a great job identifying what are the issues at stake today, in the cultures of the world, as it relates to the gospel.  Many voices offer many different kinds of teaching and twist God's Word enough to  make it sound like real biblical truth.  That's why Craig and LaDonna take the time to walk listeners through the important process of how to understand what God's original intent and meaning was when He spoke through his human scribes the truths that eventually became part of the complete Bible we now hold in our hands.   In today's episode, they will remind us that the real issue is not proper contextualization of the gospel, nor its imitator, which is blatant syncretism, but the real issue is the authority of Scripture.  A healthy Indigenous Faith is built on the solid foundation of God's Word, rightfully understood through strong and courageous pastors and missionaries who are not swayed by current trends, and the vain imaginations of men's hearts and minds.  It's going to be a great journey into God's Word once again in this Contending for the Faith series!  Stay tuned!
