22.15 The Who, What, and Why of Scripture - Christology (Part 3)

from Indigenous Faith · host Craig & LaDonna Smith

In this third episode of the Smith's overview of the doctrine of Christology, Craig and LaDonna continue to unpackage from the Scriptures what it says about the person, work, and ways of the most unique person who ever walked on planet Earth - Jesus Christ.  The Smiths continue to share about how, in Christ, several of the Old Testament laws were fulfilled, or, completed in Him and are no longer relevant to today's follower of Christ.  That includes the Jewish adherence to dietary regulations set out for them by God in the Old Testament, as well as the ceremonial laws prescribed by Jehovah God that are now fulfilled in the finished work of Christ on the cross.  They remind us all that while those practices are now not necessary regulations to adhere to today, we still are called to obedience to the moral code of conduct as outlined in the Ten Commandments.  Those moral laws provide the foundation for many of the laws enacted by governments worldwide.  Eternal judgement, while based on all of us breaking God's laws, is much more about our rejecting the only One who can dismiss those charges against us by His substitutionary death on the cross.  And that's our dilemma.  Also in today's episode, Craig and LaDonna turn the corner from defining biblical truth to starting to unpackage where the Redeeming of Culture promoters are off-base in their philosophies that are contrary to authentic biblical truth.  You now begin to see how false teaching develops, starting with misapplying what God's Word really has to say on important theological issues. This will help you as an Indigenous believer in Christ know how to have your radar up to detect not only what God's Word has to say, but how false teachers so easily are misled as they try to stand on misapplied interpretations of God's Word as the basis for what they promote to all those they seek to influence.  Let's be on guard as we protect the precious treasure of the Word of God from those who would seek to define it anyway they wish, and push back against it every time it presents itself.
