She studied psychology at Howard University, also working as a freelance writer. In 2022, Milan graduated with her master's in Social Justice and Human Rights with a particular focus on the Americas, the Black Radical Tradition, Marxism, and agriculture. She is an organizer in the Black Alliance for Peace, an anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, and anti-patriarchal organization rooted in the Black Radical Peace tradition, where she is also on the Haiti/Americas team. Currently, she is the co-founder and co-editor of Amani Sol Magazine, an online creative arts magazine elevating marginalized and oppressed artists, as well as the director of an afterschool program in Baltimore.
