Kgo! Nice to have you. Only episode my Michael listen to me. Yeah, he's good.
And this one. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to the Old Talk podcast, our Victorian specials. And we're here recording from Darden Garage.
Amazing, this place in New Zealand, look, Kgo. It's beautiful. It's amazing. Excuse the background noises, but we've got music, cafeteria.
This is great. This is crazy,000. But it's amazing. It's almost like a New Zealand, something outskirts of the city of our new Richmond.
It's about two, three kilometers outside of the city. And we'll hear you checking out the cars, and we'll say a bump to an old friend of ours. They've stood, welcome to the podcast. Thank you.
So we'll stay still doing well if you're here looking for cars, right? Yes, yes. I'm actually trying to take a look at the office. It's a lot of talk about the trust in the truck.
Trust in the wrong business. What are the actors doing with money? Trust in the wrong buying a car today. No, I'm not with other people's money.
They'll be too happy. But no, it's really great down here. I mean, there's an awesome car. And next door is an awesome rock car.
Awesome rock car. It's a crazy car. Old view. And with some of the cars that say, well, you've got to be a bit of a tortuentist to get in.
Like this, we're in Australia, you can see two Lexus. I was thinking, yeah. We're in Australia to see two Lexus LFA's together in one room. And Garage.
That's a beautiful car. Really wide, nice looking car. Toilet, photo-maker cars. Toilet, photo-maker cars.
It looks like Blue Reynolds Trans Am. If you look at it from this angle. Definitely wasn't the guy that worked on the snier-souper. I can't believe you super done.
Hey Paul, we love you so far. Hey, we're at 4G, see as we get to try it. And you know what, normally in Sydney, you'd see one or two, three, five, sixes. Five, six.
Right, there's a SLS is. This was a real estate max, but I was just saying it's on the car. I was going to say that, all the cars here are all Lexus. There's a 300 SE, from W1, 2.
From the head, but the can of a convertible ones to see the left-nuke, which was a Sydney car. It's beautiful. W1, 1, 2. And my favourite is the Ferrari Super That's a good game.
It's not that hard. But we started to see a lot of people getting out now going back to Delta. I was trying to pull the guy for years ago and he was selling apartments for one of the big guys. He said, it was always disappointing because he said the young couple come in, they've come into the apartment, they've gone home, they've got their mum and dad and they come out looking at the front and brought them back.
So, it wasn't even a hard sell for this guy. Well, you got to go to an auction. Your first beat is your max beat and then someone else and other three people just fighting I've been a bit bit underground over where you're at. Do you want to stay there to still drive the punters around?
My father always having a big S-Class, a big car, to pack the buyers in, he used to show the properties of the S-Class. In the S-Class? In the S-Class? In the S-Class?
You still don't even know. I've had a buyer in my car in ten years, I reckon. So, yeah, now people sleep soon. They see everything on real estate.com.
In the late 90s, I went and bought myself a nice Falcon S-Hack. I don't chuck it on gas, but we still do that. People come into the office and they chuck it in the car and we go and show them ten properties and then at the end of it, we go and try to go on a bike. These days we always take their problems, they're always taking that part of the business of late.
People do their own searches, maybe their own short-listing, and they ring us or email us for the ones that they really want to see. So, having a really nice car and real estate is just showing them practically. Traditionally, the real estate agent has the slick cars. The agent always has the slick cars.
The sales agents, the office principal may have, but the sales agents, we're talking general suburbs and stuff like that. You need a big guest to put the four-star signs in the group. The big four-star signs in the group? Most of them.
For the styling shots, I move your car around, move your BMW, the under-palliers class in the driveways at the home. It's not even the home. It's not even the last one, it's the next one. You need a guest bus, you know?
I'll go work at midget. We need to get you a guest bus. It's a real estate car of choice. More and more BMWs.
So, now we've gone with the BMW. We've gone with the BMWs. The BMWs have been in the BMWs. They love them.
Yeah, seven series. And if you can lease with only a special or a certain amount, five series. If you were just starting out, the little one I know, two or three. And the reception has had the two or the three or eight.
Yes, two or three. I think Arba is taking them all and is wrecking them all. I find you and you can buy used with a lot of wrecking. Yeah, so we'll use your car.
You should have done it. You had some of the S-TAC Falcon? I started the S-TAC Falcon. What series?
It was in EB. EB series, two. The four-speed. Yeah, that's better than that.
Yeah, four litre. I met GED. And I actually bought that from the local Ford dealer and the guy there who was the service manager. I gave him a very first listing in real estate.
I signed it up. So, I was property. So, I kind of got stuck in Ford. I always had Commodore's before that.
I started in Ford's because every time I went back, they can't give me property. They can't give me properties themselves. So, as a young kid in 24-25, I just get their listings from this massive Ford dealer that you've had in Ringwood every four. So, yeah, I've had a nice little work.
Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Good to meet you. Good to meet you.
So, I've had Ford's pretty much my entire career. And look, I'm from the outer east and the south. You know, Logan's territory. None of my courts and my lois and all that stuff.
So, none of my clients are running around in the cities or the end of the youth. So, I stuck with Ford's my wife. Do I have the territory, Turbo? No, I don't know what they do.
No, no, no. No, no, no. They do it. They bring in American issues.
So, when was the last Ford's territory? I would have been there too. Yeah, too. A little bit.
The last ones they made were Beezers. Right. And they really weren't. So, was what scooped in the bottle?
Yeah. Yeah. Always buy a territory and why say I want one with all the letters. We went and got a gear.
And I test-groved it. Yeah, and I came back and I said to the guy, did he come in the turbo? And he said, yeah, my wife said, I don't need a turbo. And I've gone, yeah, but I have to ride it some time.
So, we end up buying a turbo. Hey, why for a two-ton truck? Yeah, it moves. And it's drinks.
It's not drinks. So, you'll be able to beat R-O-3s at Calcrus. That was a plane. It's a bit of a heavy acro.
Yeah, but all the tracks are a little drive. Oh, drive track. You don't want to throw it around a corner too hard though. It's not some series, but you're wrong.
It doesn't. Oh, yeah. We can pick that with suspension wheels. We'll also do it in garage.
So, I've had an R6. I've had an R6. I've had an R6. So, now I've got a GT.
R-Spec. R-Spec. Black. Black and red.
The red. C-2 manual. And it's R-Spec. Yes, R-Spec.
Just spec. Is that handled? Is that a daddy? Yeah, I'd be belated if you can have a car drive.
What are you? We'll just sort of redo it. First. Yeah.
If it's petrol, more than like, one eight car. But you buy a car drive. It's a great edge. It's been seen as a driven.
If you've heard of pedals, a large system? No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No.
Go away. Just go away. The car gets on and they're done. What are they doing?
She was coughing. Parts when on boats and send them to places like Greece. I'll go straight on, though. I'm just saying, like, you think you're about cars going on.
Cars-did they get stopped? Did they even-well-you've seen-there's even cars that have got keyboard sentry? I've seen them actually, but I replicated them, got onto a truck and- Yeah. I'll make sure why, that's a good word.
It's been down the road, but my neighbor had even though. Broken the house was all okay. It's still in the house. Yeah, they were at home.
Yeah, they were at home. for all the cars on the on the bench is always going to break into the house. Then I would take these the keys and go. That's right.
What do they do with the car? They're both on the use of the remarades. Parts. Parts are on stage with a high snow on car.
For parts. Was it? Yeah. So there's many parts.
And then you've got all the ones that got set to Syria in Iraq. Oh, did you see it? You got all the way there? We've got a close one.
Yeah. You said you got a close one? No, this is, we've got an American trade in his youth. And he had his sign running.
He was going to take the sign running off and they did. I said no, no, we'll do that because we'll do a bit of it. And they also went the sign at all. And they kind it up in Syria.
As you know. What was that? He's got a lot of others. You're actually going to get business out of it?
No, you've got a lot of phone calls. Yeah, yeah. The secret sort of thing. Yeah, yeah.
It's kind of cool. Can I get to Syria? And when you come up with the music, you don't want it? Yeah.
Look, the thing is, the thing is, if you don't have the keys, it's very hard to get a new car. Salt. It's a lot of hard work. But it's easy to get a key.
Oh, you don't walk around the laptop to try to start it. It's the whole one. Yeah, but someone's got a happy number of them. They're not going to have a bin number.
It's a Can't keep your car like specifications. They're be number on the wheel square. Friendly and young. You're a friendly service for horsemen.
I've been number on the wheel square. The class has already been in the glass. When I am doing great, but what am I doing? You've been doing great.
That's what I'm doing. Oh, wow. Work the thing out. Work the thing out.
Work the thing out. Look out. Work the thing out. Work the thing.
Work that thing out. Work the thing out. Work the thing out. Work the thing out.
That's what I'm doing. Get your car. It's going to be happening. The only reason it's going to be outside is if you need to stop wheels.
So driving in Melbourne, isn't that bad? Speed camera, seating in bins? Yeah, driving in Melbourne is not great. But it's no different from driving in Sydney.
You know, we've got more speed cameras, we've got more calls around, a few days over, but I was in Sydney in November. I was in Sydney, I mean, that's just as bad. Can you talk on the phone? I mean, it's very hands-free, it's awesome.
Talk safe. But now, the end of the day, I think the major city is like, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney traffic. Yeah, traffic is a lot of cars in the road. But I know that the Victorian Government is sort of keen on bringing their road tile down, but it's almost like a sledgehammer of crack and art sometimes.
So really it's heavy-handed. None of this is just, it's another report, actually, back in that stuff up. I think we've got so many people spending so much time staring at this, you know, making sure they're not going a kilometer over, that no one's actually paying attention to the road anymore. And more than that, you've got people that sit in the right-hand lane because they are so concerned about going 100 and 3 kilometers in 100 zone, and they just plug traffic.
And then you get people that want to go around them, and they take risks, and they jump into the left lane, and it creates hazardous traffic conditions. But I think most of this, I understand, that a lot of the stuff that the Government's bringing in on isn't really road safety. It's a great. It's a great event.
It's like a fortune to drive in this. It's a voluntary tax, effectively. If you can't get a couple of Ks over, you know you've got a pay chance to be that hard. Oh, look at that.
It's been 5 o'clock. Just a couple of Ks. Your airport being so far out of the city should have built the congestion. I mean, Sydney's, you cannot move around bottom of your mascot.
If you've been on that freeway at a 5, 6 o'clock at 5, it's just a day to get to know. If you pick up the water a day, it can't get clocked. The road works. The bridge is not finished yet.
The road works. I mean, you've tried to notice the balti breach. The balti breach. The two Coca-Cola's.
They're not going to finish it. I was waiting for the other two posts. They're not going to look like A for it. No, no, no, no.
Just two. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The gas, yeah. The car can sometimes be on.
Yeah, it's raining. It's raining. Yeah, it's raining. It's raining.
You've got trains on the road. Yes, they're trains around the road. They're called trams. They're just like five years behind.
They've built the trams. The one you're talking about is the light right? They're trying to train and the trams. That's what we're getting right around.
We're getting right right around. They're taking three or four years to build one line. Yes. They're like, they're four years behind.
Yeah, they're four years behind. People are skydder than. But there's ten children for more people. Oh.
Look, populations growing. The problem we've got in Australia is with the size of Europe, with the population of the city of Europe. We're too many cars. And we're going to pay for infrastructure.
We're going to pay for it. I mean, and that's it. We're talking about electric cars on, on the cool man and the electric cars. We're trying to sort of be behind.
We don't have the infrastructure for electric cars. But we've taken that. There's a lot of nice cars in here. We'll just go back.
Dave, if you had fuck off money, what would you drive out of? Yeah, I'm going to take that. Which one? Which one?
Which one? That's right. That's right. It's only 911, 8?
Yeah, Dave's .911, which is last year. Last year. So, yeah. It's not only the most of the modified.
Hey, can't I be quite happy just to close around? I don't know if you can get up and I'll sort this thing. Yeah. Again, if you can spend 800 grand on something, spend 800 grand on something to hold its value and be a limited deal.
Yeah, true. You know, you drive the old drive. Yeah, but you know, you drive the old drive. So, it's just not a 100 grand piece of that.
I've got one in the car. Hey, now, it's one o'clock back mate. Just drive it in reverse. Just build.
Sorry out in our son. Open D2X. Very Christmas. Ding-gul bells.
What'd you tell you the X5? I also recently traded an X5 and did you put it back to the factory settings? No, I had the car. Well, I bought the car.
Apparently. You were able to watch, there was no speed limit to the digital television. So, I wanted to reset it back to factory. And then, when I was macking around with the laptop, I found there was a setting for seasonal settings.
There was a seasonal setting. So, I went through a few of them. Then I found a Christmas setting. And the Christmas setting, basically on start up, we played Christmas now.
And there was snowflakes for Christmas time. The kids thought it was awesome. And then my wife thought it was really annoying after a while. But I've got to set back.
So, who are the now ones with cars? At this beautiful Christmas thing? Every time the snowflakes run it, they hit the odd drive and the elfer on the Christmas car. Good.
They curse every time. Were you the first day in the car? I don't know. Is your name in the mall?
Yeah, it is. Look, the car's registered to Mrs. Claus. That's Claus.
But there's actually some really cool things you can do. Like I've got both the BMW one. I'm not going to say BMW. And then if you look at Audi, Volkswagen, Lamborghini.
Yeah, but you can do some of my stuff. Like this different modes. Like this transport mode. Like if you're a police vehicle or emergency services, you can change the settings for that.
I don't know what they do. But this is an idroid. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is.
I don't know what it is. I don't know what it is. I don't know what it would be. But there's all these different features that are taxi features as well.
What's that? Yeah. I know Audi's got a lot of good stuff you can unlock out of it. In their entertainment.
Yeah. Such as? Yeah, unlock the back doors. I'm not the back doors.
Yeah. He's in the car mode, the Tesla. The Tesla. It plays a video.
Yeah, well you hit the car mode and the door goes up and down. The lights play through the car. That's fantastic. And it's like, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
You see, you have another Toyota. It's like a full-on. You can't buy it for seven days. You can't buy it for seven days.
You can't buy it for seven days. We found out Tesla's going to an online model. You can buy it for Tesla. Excellent.
That's what's shipping the car. That's right. You know, new car went to the water. You've got a lot of paying sure it's because you've got a 21-day cool rock period.
You've got the insurance here. You've got the coming out. They're calling it a cool rock period now. I was not calling it a lot of periods.
So basically, if you cancel it within that 21 days, this is all the car insurance is now. So if you cancel it within the 21 days, there's nothing to pay. Obviously, you've got to claim the whole year plus the excess is a drillboard or whatever. But you know, so you can get the Tesla, take the back of the way, cancel your insurance and add a part.
What's the doors do happen now? And it goes out, out, fluffing around. Which comes in handy for real estate agents. Marketing.
Are you looking out the front of open houses and you're coming? Yeah, it's all right. That's right. Wait.
You know what? Yes, you know what? You want to master a real estate agent in the past. What do you mean?
It's trying to colonize the movies. The easy just don't disturb these stuff. Yeah, they just don't disturb the stoves. It's definitely the right station.
So if you're cleaning a movie, you see a super villain or a superhero? Well, I think if you ask some of these investors, you're a super family. Yeah. He's not had a real good track record actually, make it.
Well, I don't pipe out. Well, he's just taking a hundred dollars. He has sourced a hundred thousand dollars off his flagship car. Right?
So all the people that bought that car last year, they're like two eight people. Well, they're cars not with one eight anymore, which may have been worth as a use one. Yeah. They're probably cars probably worth a hundred now.
So I think that's very good business for a car company to go around saying, well, you know what? I think I'm brand of the car. I just want to put it back. Is that because they already have a seat, he's bringing out their own electric cars at the end of the year.
At a hundred grand less than you. I've never been a Tesla fan just from the build quality of it. I don't get the whole electric. It's a rubbish build.
These are really bad build, but I think they're going to be in a serious competition when these guys start bringing out some real cars. They're refined. These guys have been building cars. They've been out in a long time.
A hundred years. For a long time. The novelty is wearing off. That's the thing.
It's going to take me a long time to get into it. I like the fact that I'm stuck with this petrol station and stick with it. I'm not concerned about the environment. I'm cooping.
I'm really sorry about that. So it makes the noise. I didn't do that noise. I came back the bike sometimes to get the charge not fine.
Yeah. I tried to start the petrol car. Yeah. I didn't do cars.
Yeah, true. That's what's going to happen to me. I've had a kids' school car. I forgot the charging.
I don't think it was the way that they are. I don't think if you put the kids in charge or charge them, they'll always be charged. They've got a pack like the wireless vehicle driver. They've got to rid my house up.
I've had this one about before. The carbon footprint of the electric car is greater than most petrol cars. Four of costs that get them in Australia. But they're even globally.
It's the same issue. It's the same issue. It costs, you know, you still got to get the power generated. The battery's had to get made.
They didn't get made by accident. So, and then there's a lot of spend of it. What to do with it. The other thing, if you've got electric cars, so up to 50-50, there's not enough elements to make the battery in the world.
And we'll be able to produce that many of cars. We'll just have to invite more countries. So, they're taking a little lift here. They're taking a little bit of power.
They're going to say, so wherever there's lithium, I tend to tell you about, if you've got democracy or freedom, we'll come to you sooner or later. Okay. What did you find out? Isn't it the 20 thousand one?
You know, lithium in any western country. They're all in, they're all in the world countries or where there's dictators. There's no lithium in the right sense. There's no lithium in Australia.
No, it's true. You think about it? You know. The stuff they need to make all the batteries or our phones or laptops is, you know, microphone or white pads are all in barren lands in countries that need democracy and freedom.
That looks like a little e-writing. No, we're not going to sell to anyone. I think we can sell to the Americas and then go and get out with you. You know, we've got some new...
They know this happens to work. You made me from Victoria, but... He's a problem solver. He knows.
You lost me a Tesla. I'm not even a sittler. Tesla? I'm sorry.
I'm actually not. Don't do it. I don't want to look at that. Just go back and think how many times between now and when you buy the car, you forget to charge the phone.
When you run out of time better. This is actually true. You run out of time. Let's say we go to all of us here.
There's five of us here. We all go in aero electric car and we've got no battery. We all go to Broadway shopping time. We go to charge out.
Is that too special? the white on the last one. And you know what's worse? Well, there'll already be two people there.
And then you've got a white. And you've got a white. And you've got a white. And some of those green parking areas with the charging docks, people don't give up like a pack.
They're charging. Well, actually I did that. I recently did the road trip up to Queensland in Multivet. And I parked in the Tesla part of the electric parking spot.
I had a Tesla already built it. I guess it was definitely confusing. Excuse me. I said, yes.
He says for electric vehicles. He goes, wow. He goes, oh, what the sounds were big. He goes, you have to go back and back.
He goes, but you're not charging it. I said, I'll wheel him in. I was going to give you that back. He asked me again.
I was going to have to stick with it. I was going to have to have the crew flapping. Stick with it. I'm living it.
I was around the window there. I was around the window there. We had to. We had to.
We had to go down the window. We had to go down the window. We had to do the charge. The Tesla.
I was going to do the window. We looked at me like I was afraid. Hey, look what's up? I'm going to go back to the back of the back of the highway.
The Tesla. I was trying to run it. If you put the cord in the front seat. You're going to be like, look what's going on.
I'm going to remember that. Hey, it's always been like... It's cold, though. You can see me rocking up in the gym too.
I got you. It's so luxurious. I'm just packing the food. What is the food?
I'm going to buy one of those, um, homemade, uh, extension calls from bunnies. And I'm going to go hiking those fours. And there's a lot of pieces in the bag. I'm going to put the bush back on the back of the steel.
Except the plug coming up onto the charge. You know what the ad blew is? The ad blew the thing that that would do it. And just get the other end of it.
That's right. Rock it. Plug it in. This guy is electric.
Sounds electric too. It's a lead rod. That's really cool. That's it.
It's a black multi van. It's a black multi van. You're like, just... That one's so...
Naturally the car goes into the Volkswagen dealer. It's a big thing. What a nice deal. It's a big thing.
It's a big topic. Every time we talk, every time we talk, we have an 8% of them. It's come up. It's a big problem.
Everyone wants to say, you want to be the right thing? You want to do it. The thing is, you can pay 50 grand for the Honda by your name. What's that?
Your electric car. You said that last time. You can pay 50 grand for this. 50 grand for this.
50 grand for this. Does it look like an R2? No. No.
It's not that. It's a price version of Honda. 50 grand. There are a lot of cars that are very economical.
Because don't forget, if you drive an ionic hard or any electric car. The range is not very good on it. It's like any other car. It consumes.
That's $50,000 car. Is no better than the equivalent $25,000 car for the same car going in size. So what will give you $25,000? What?
What? What? What? You've got a fuel.
You've got a fuel. I can't say something. I can't say it's electric car. It's not way.
I don't look in electric cars for any sort of environmental reason or anything like that. I look at it. I look at it. It's a Tesla.
It's a Tesla. It's a Model. They know it's 100. 4 seconds.
But you track it on a Christmas. It's 2.9. Exactly. So I look at it and say, if you do that a few times and you'll know when you're at charging station, it's going to be like when your batteries are 1% in the new world.
It's like, it's like when you accelerate a hardy, any car. We've got an email from Alisson there, Leo Saris. I hope you guys are well. I picked up a cracker over the weekend in the back of Aubrey.
110,000 cars on the clock, 94 model, V12, 600 SL. On the R-M over parts. Reports say that with 350 grand back in those days, drinking will be the next classic. Oh, we're going to do this.
That's the C-1. That's the only one. That's after the middle of the hill's clock. Does he count on how many buttons are there?
I don't know. That's on Bill the Buttons. Yeah, Leo, if you are listening, count how many buttons are on there. We count 140 S class we had from the 90s, but they'll go up in value, won't it?
Yeah, 100%. What many of those were made? No. Like, this keeps up 500 SLs for square ones.
Yeah, I reckon that was a pretty limited run. Yeah, it was a limited run. If you look back now, the 560 SLs are hitting 8,900,000. Compared to a 380 SL or 450 SL.
I mean, they are going up in value. And then the pagodas are untouchable. The 280 pagodas are getting more than the 250 or 230. But even look at the W-1.
I love that car, as most people are going to know. It's probably not, and there's one here. Yeah, we can probably put it in the car. Put it in the back of the glue gun and take it out.
Just for 300. 300. That car has got some serious exit people. That's 300 is getting good money.
Now you could have bought it with 50. Yeah. So hang over, we can build it with you as well. That's a lot of scars.
That's a beautiful car. That's left hand, right? That's the way the baby can hang over. There's a real-ass gun on it now.
But what's the reason? That Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, is a future classic. You have to keep it. It's a good thing.
No. Yeah, yeah. Just dive around. Just dive around.
You just dive around. 110,000. Like Dave says, cars have been driven. Cars are absolutely driven.
You want to show him clean? No, but car. But I think in the last five years everything has gone up in terms of everyone's life. That's the kind of way you're right.
I mean, again, try to bring it back to the real estate. Do you see when the economy is doing well, depending on your property and cars ride that wave? And when you go to slump? You can see, the prices are coming back in collector cars.
All the different markets. Yeah, look at me. I think what we exactly feel is that these market has gone on. As markets go up, they've got more confidence.
