What if peace isn’t something you inherit… but something you make? In the final message of our Īhu: Legacy of the Gospel series, we explore Ephesians 2 — where Paul declares, “He Himself is our peace.” When Jesus died, the curtain in the temple tore, and the dividing wall came down. Not because Rome changed. Not because the crowd apologised. But because Christ gave Himself. Through the powerful story of Māori peacemaker Wiremu Tamihana — a Bible teacher, church builder, and founder of Peria — we see what it looks like to take that Gospel seriously. In the face of invasion and hostility, he didn’t reach for a sword. He reached for Scripture. This message challenges us to examine the walls we rebuild: Between cultures, generations, in our marriages, our workplaces, even in our churches. If Christ has torn down the dividing wall, why would we put it back up?
