Mr. Finch receives a call from Sergeant Miller, a recruiter who believes discipline begins with decibels. What follows is a barrage of shouted orders, push-up demands, and patriotic platitudes—all met with Finch’s trademark indignation and refusal to be addressed as “private.” As the sergeant escalates, so does Finch’s vocabulary, culminating in a verbal standoff that’s equal parts boot camp and Oxford debate. It’s military recruitment gone spectacularly wrong—and Finch is not about to drop and give anyone twenty.
