This podcast was brought to you by good episode productions because sometimes an episode is simply good Yeah, is it wrong today for its view for her money? I think that if she's getting something out of the relationship in a transactional sense, then actually it's fine Yeah, I've seen some I've seen gentlemen before blunts. So that's how I feel about Yeah, because it's not them. It's not or three happen who was plus size and beautiful I know Every time I see feminist next door.

I'm filled with like the biggest indescribable rage like in my chest You know she's a wall street exactly. Yes. Oh, I know really you know she works in Wall Street final She did this big long thread about how actually Wall Street is a wire press. It's some other than the less bank It's um, it's a leftist that are coming for you.

I just hate to see the picture on her profiles Stupid like pulled smile. It's so edited. I just yeah, I did she I don't get her I don't think she was a real face and then yeah, not to be a misogynist or main But I just hate feminist next door and when she says next door, I could never afford to live where she lives So not next door to me. I think we've got to add all of this when I'm a socialist podcast Cornwall is bad Everywhere in South America is the same place.

Yeah, earlier George decided that every South American country is the same Because he's he's a very offensive person. We're an edgy podcast now where we make offensive jokes Yeah, next thing we should do is get Elon on the pod and smoke a joint with him I think that would be and ironically that would be incredible. I Just I can't imagine how it would be, you know, I don't know what I would have to say to him face effect I just can't imagine him being like a person, you know I think the only thing I'd be able to ask him about is whether the Azalea Banks grimes through some I'm far more interested in Grimes. I would just ask him all about Grimes I'd be like hey, what's it like dating Grimes how is grimes?

What happened she used to be a Stalinist before happened I Think of the restarliness but like explicitly but her like high school leavers. Yeah, but quite was a starting quote She's very normal. It's almost like if people do it for aesthetic reasons. It's probably not very deep-rooted Nayanos isn't here.

I'm I'm gonna be strict. It's gonna be really strict This is chaos configuration without Janos. Well, actually I was thinking about this earlier because I always thought me and Janos was the chaos configuration because we're like fun co-pops dreams and then when Lucy's not here with like the Daootrio And When George isn't here, it's like the bonus world and I was like what are we if Janos isn't here? And I was like maybe we're just Brexit If Janos isn't here, we've lost our international collection.

We've just become we just become Brexit, which is wrong. Damn. We're free now From Janos is tyranny. It's just the imperial tyrannical rule of Janos as representing the whole rest of Europe Janos has sometimes talked to me, so I think I think I think I'm free now Okay, who's gonna nail their feces to the door?

It's already there. It's already there What's it feces? It's something 12 things 12 rules for hating. I thought it was yeah, it was like the 12 thingies I thought it was more like 99 because then people made jokes like I've got 99 problems in the Catholic churches every single one of them Hmm.

I don't know. I'm gonna be real. I don't know a huge amount about my own later It's really funny that you were like I'm gonna be really strict and I'm gonna tell us all to clap and then you said let's clap and then we carried on Well, I'm apparently not that good at being strict Catherine von Bora this painting off her makes it kind of like an alien Martin Luther's wife. Oh, she looks like an alien.

I mean that's kind of hard I'm pretty sure she didn't in real life. Have you know? I just think that didn't quite have like photorealistic portraiture in this oh, yeah I mean she's really out proportioned. This is great.

You can sit in that actually they could and this is just what people look like I've actually told you can actually do a painting for you Great because like actually like six inches apart and one of them's like two inches higher than the other one Listen sometimes people are big heads and you shouldn't be rude about it, you know Okay, Martin Luther was like I love my small torso wide We used to shame him back in a seminary school for liking women on the smaller torso side But he doesn't care he thinks she's beautiful. I think that's very romantic. Oh everyone is just looking for someone who loves them despite the size of their torso Yeah, I've got a very small torso also. He was 16 years older than her so canceled.

That's cool Massive fantasy time like who wasn't in those days I mean should I bring a saying because we have a lot to talk about this episode. I think yeah Because I'm just gonna keep scrolling through M. Razz's tweets and you shouldn't do that. No, I think it's a bad idea Okay Nobody knows how to build it Well-preserved to get appearance took about two million stones to build up here Two million stones Pyramids took about 20 or 30 years to make It's a long time, but if you think about a number of stones a couple million stones in every pyramid.

Think about stones Help what's up gamers? Thank you Watch a discord reread podcast hosted by Three's and individuals who rotate slowly in time of the earth. I'm your host Charlotte and I'm a misogynist I'm your host Lucy and is there a mr. Soginnist and Androgynist no Miss and rest Who you I am as wellness George He nearly enlightened released from my digital confines which you the sheep are all enslaved to by dopamine.

I bring you joy This is what George is saying referring to leaving Twitter. I'm better than everyone who's As claimed moral superiority and we out without yet All this week No, he got we canceled him and he got kicked off the podcast because he was applying his weight in the content minds Yeah, I'm sure Janos traveled to a Danish kingdom and killed a monster But then he slept with his mother and the second son that was born from him has now laid him alone with each You know I want him. I said you're gonna go do that. You shouldn't you should do that.

You know you should sleep with the monster mother I told you why I was the wages of sin are death and you have read reap to watch you soon Janos said something to us in German and we committed a European hate crime Yeah, we can we can handle it because of the stresses of Brexit We were like anyone who speaks a European language will be immediately Exercised from the podcast. Yeah, but on the right side Lucy's here all non-English languages absolutely for Bowdoin. Yeah Martin Luther 12 articles, okay, okay Yeah, welcome back loose. It's nice that your back and your ear is attached to your head presumably Mm-hmm.

No, it is. Okay, that's good. That's good I can already tell this is gonna be a wonderful podcast that people will love to hit how's your mother Lucy? She looks like Angelina Jolie it is cold cold Moving on from beer will oh And I will say today We read the second almost like the second half of pyramids.

I think yeah It was like a lot it was a way more than we read in the last two episodes This was a terrible way to think about the podcast because the first episode was like five pages, but it's fine Because Janos isn't here. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, we can bitch about Janos Where in fucking glasses wearing motherfuckers that guy dances what a What about our co-hosts wears glasses of dances Yeah, that's just like so embarrassing I do I do well I will take this opportunity though because last week when I well when I was listening to the last episode And you guys are talking about character names and like whether or not you pronounce the P I have to decide with the answer this one I'm afraid so I'm gonna be taking up his stance that you do pronounce the P and also No, you don't and also the audio book for this book says Patrachi instead of Tracy But the whole point is that it's a joke that her name is Tracy.

That's like the point. Let's not be in prescription this shall we? I think it's not a joke I think I can I think I know why they did that on an audio book because in an order to read you and understand that there was a Joke it was just be called Tracy when she's fine whatever, but I think it's funny that she's called Tracy All right, Tracy. All right, I see I see a mapper.

I see a mapper. She's been it the source again Oh, she even didn't do a washing this week all the clouds are caked up in the laundry basket So this week yeah, we finished our pyramids and in my opinion pretty cool book. It's great. It's a really good book I was like yeah, this there's some like themes going on There's like weird quantum stuff.

They really do go into the into the quantum theory shit like pretty heavily really pretty Like a word for that one because I don't understand it It's quantum it's quantum it's quantum Yeah, I also think he really managed to like make quite a large and expansive story and then ties all of the main bits back together very neatly Yeah, yeah, no, it's like very well plotted especially considering some of his other books like It just yeah everything everything just works and all makes sense and you know flows really well And it's just really well structured which yeah, it's just incredibly different to like sorcery and the other info in books Yeah, jitter is the Nigel of this book Just more of a main character than I think Nigel ever was no Nigel's important It is sexier than I do I think He's a pirate well, he's not a pirate. He's in comments, but you know, it's like vibes He's a poor trader speaking of which I I will do a quick summary of the end of this book I wrote it up beforehand because I thought it would be too difficult for me to just try and do off the cuff Do you normally do them off the cuff? Yeah. Oh shit, okay.

That's the way to live baby Listen I yeah, I do but not this week's because there's too many bits So I'm just gonna run through it really quickly because there is so so many so many fun bits to talk about Uh, we have a Tracy who are outside the old kingdom which has disappeared into a crack in the desert Running out ideas unable to get back they head to a phoebe a phoebe a phoebe a phoebe a phoebe Is that a phoebe file check? I did not think about that until now. I know I think it might be A phoebe. I mean it's Greek like ancient Greek.

Yeah, which is like where that comes from Hi, a phoebe. Well a phoebe. Yeah as a young man of 18 to 20 years undergoing military training So phoebe just means like a young man in Greek so Little bit sad when I actually like this us. I mean it's a good joke, but like Whove um yeah, so if you need a fake grease, um, I'm gonna go there to find a geometry expert who can help them Figure out what's happened to jelly baby.

They run across some philosophers who are trying to do zinos paradox And one of them is literally zino, um and hurting some turtles in the process And then they head to the symposium or philosophers to try and figure out what's happening And then I wrote more like simp sozium me my little jelly baby. Wow the gods the god. Thank you Um, this is scripted I mean my little jelly baby the gods are fucking around and everything's getting pretty weird One of the talk lessons has got his dimensions all fucked up and he sort of exists in a Geometric time dimension where he walks through time rather than through space. Yeah, he's flat Stanley.

He's flat now. Yeah How close uh to be and his brother flat Stanley? Yes He's having a mental breakdown because the gods are there and it's changed And he doesn't know what to do with that the younger one of the younger priests suddenly finds out there's like a bit of a power vacuum And he's never really in this unchanging kingdom had the opportunity to get ambitious before but now he does and he decides he's a baby And he wants power they throw some priests in the river because they are doubting the existence of the gods even though the gods are there And they don't want to get in trouble. One of the priests narrates the trajectory of the sun across the sky as it's passed between gods Like it's a football game and it's very funny DS gets mad because the gods aren't doing as they're told Because everything people believe to be true is true the dead mummies are coming back Teppics dad wakes up and decides to go break all the other mummies out of their pyramids with the help of the embalmers Tepp goes to symposium but Tracy can't go because she's a woman and their brains might overheat Um, he makes them for glossifiers and learns the sad story of their Phoebean sort war which is like the early ad but dumber They have to go to war because jelly baby usually sounds between them and now it's gone Um their borders are touching and they have to war because of just inevitability Very good at it.

Yeah, it's really fun. A geometricaled pathagonal tells him Explains that the pyramids flare off any new time that can't create like gathers in the kingdom So actually they've just been experiencing the same warmed over time over and over again Um, and the big one has rotated the dimensions so they've sort of moved one step forward so with his breath his time and stuff It's pretty cool. Uh tepic and Tracy get picked up by cheater who happens to be there doing trades and he's got a big fancy boat That's not at all suspicious. It's described as being very like shiny and it's having a guilt complex Uh Start gilt Uh chitter is horny for Tracy.

Um, he's becoming more angry and imperious since they've left the kingdom Even though cheddar chitter says disappeared kingdom is great for tax purposes tepic decides he has to go back After he has a dream where the original pharaoh tells him that the camels brought the valley into existence using quantum theory Tepic decides that that's a good idea. What if he uses his camel to try and sniff out the valley Um, so he goes and steals his camel which is called you busted back Meanwhile the gods are causing chaos in jelly baby, especially hat the boat to head a god Um, and the mummies are all out and they've gone to the oldest pyramid to try and break the original pharaoh out But it's actually empty and the door opens. It's not sealed. It's like on a sliding door tepic Uh basically makes his camel thirsty enough that it can travel through dimensions He ends up meeting a sphinx and out foxing it pretty easily before I mentioned anything up in jelly baby It's sorts and if he begins try to fight each other by both sides building wooden horses and hiding in them That's good The recent dead kings all confront each other and we find out that dl's has actually been high priest the entire time Since the very beginning and the first pyramid is his and he can go in it and wind back time So it can keep going indefinitely He just thinks that you know, he's got a lot to do and he doesn't want other people to mess it up Um, the gods come to see what's going on tepic is back and he's got godlike abilities again And he parts the river in order to get through it He thinks he'll flare off the time of the great pyramid so he climbs it and although he's good He gets stuck halfway up, but luckily his relatives who are the dead pharaohs they fill my human pyramid and help him up Um, he caps it with his knife and flies off the time Uh, and then the pyramid like explodes and does some weird dimensional shit And the kingdom is brought back into like the normal flow of time and things gradually become Become more normal again.

Dios has disappeared. Um, and they realize that Tracy is tepic sister So she gets to become the king and she's very good at it Or possibly aren't they're not quite sure. Yeah, but most likely sister probably sister Uh, the new priest who was the ambitious one from before thinks that he gets to be the new dl's But he's not as good as dl's so he he's kind of upset But he's told what to do now. They plan to build no more pyramids but do aqueducts and get plumbing and update the kingdom Tepic decides to ride off and go see the world.

Tracy wants him to stay. Um, I'm not really sure how that ends They like come to some sort of agreement. I'm sure if it's like they have a little kiss They have a little kiss which the camel described as being chased. I don't know if I'm meant to root for this incest to his couple I don't think we are I think Tracy's okay for it.

Yeah, Tracy doesn't really mind when she finds out she's assisted like this doesn't change anything She's just like this is how it is, you know, and he's like no, I'm not really from here I'm from that mofork and I don't love it to be honest So we don't know we don't know how that goes really but it ends with in the beginning and we see the oss and he's been blasted into the past And he looks at his weird snake staff and he notices that the snakes are actually holding their tails in their mouths And he sees the original settlers appear in the valley and he's like wow I gotta go teach them about pyramids and gods and how important they are because he's actually in a robber So he has no beginning or end he's just the constant high priest of the kingdom So that's wild and that's how the book ends Yeah Well, it's a good book. It's a very good pretty good pretty conceptual A lot. I think the writing in it as well is just really good like it like it keeps improving book by book but it's just really good here Like even with all the time stuff. It's pretty easy to follow Yeah, and it's just consistently funny as well It like manages to be sort of complicated but in a way where you're like this is interesting and I understand it and I'm also laughing good jokes There's so many bits in here where I was like, okay, terry I can see you storing up ideas There's a bit where um, uh, they're holding a tortoise I think Tracy's holding a tortoise and tap into thinking about how the gods turn into animals Took a lot with women and he looks at the tortoise and he's like a god won't be at tortoise And I was like, oh, sorry, yeah, terry starts getting fascinated by tortoise Yeah, he's like, I'm gonna I'm gonna do more stuff with tortoises.

They seem interesting And time and the idea of belief making things come into existence. Yeah, sort of force of its own There was another bit where I was like this is a future book and I can't remember what it was Hmm. Yeah, there is something I like the names in this so much I like that there is a young Greek boy called autocue I love I love everything in a phoebe because it's sort of like it's like tangentially related to the plot really But he just thought it would be fun if we get to hang out in like bizarre reach increase for a bit Yeah, calling calling one of the fluspeurs Ibid and then um saying are you thinking know everything a bit Dumb like fucking referencing joke. Do you?

It's good. It's very smart. I think They are pretty good. I mean there's all stuff in here about um like time and dimensions and all that sort of stuff Oh, I know what it was.

I know what I was thinking about um he mentions about sphinxes existing in a in a different dimension And it's not that they exist on the outskirts of deli baby as so but on the outskirts of like reality and I was like, okay So the next book is guards guards and so he's obviously like what if dragons in in dimension? Oh, that's a good point. Yeah, he's already had dragons as sort of things of people of people's imaginations in the kind of magic as well Yeah, that's interesting. But they're like yeah, they're in like a in a fringe dimension in guards guards.

So she's sort of yeah Killed up on each other because like having fun of quantum. Yeah, he's got a real thing about belief Real it's highly possible. Yes It's an interesting idea. I always found that already fascinating when I was especially younger I like I really enjoyed American gods a lot.

I haven't reread it since I might have a different ticket now I read it like three years ago and I really enjoyed it. I mean I've changed a lot in these three years, but I think it's pretty good. Yeah, I Think it holds up mostly Yeah, trying to remember some of the gender stuff. I think it's all right There's a lot of horniness.

Yeah, but I just like new game This book's pretty horny. That's sort of yeah, it's like carrying on horny and I'm like, yeah What if a woman could just eat you with her vagina? Oh, yeah, yeah He's pretty hot, right? I think so.

I'm so upset that I wasn't here last week to talk about the clothes thing because they okay Oh, that's kind of in this third of the book as well But when they talk about like the concubines and stuff wearing like no clothes and stuff But it basically just turns them into like sort of sexless statues It reminded me of how it feels to watch love island. Yes So conventionally attractive and perfectly physically sculpted and is always working out and they're always in like swimming suits and everything But it just turns it into the most sexless show on TV Because yeah, absolutely no room for the imagination. There's no mystery to it at all Yeah, there's no like eroticism. It's just like obvious and sort of it becomes meaningless because you're like, yeah, it's just flesh I am popular broadcaster Dan Savage and I probably say the brain is the biggest of roger's own And then something cramps over That's about all I know I mean, it's true.

He only thinks the brain is the most erogenous zone because he doesn't do any thinking with it Yeah Um, yeah, because like in this she comes out and she's wearing like a big frilly red poofy ball gown dress and topics like Dan. That's hot topics like calming pee pee I can't see her ankles Yeah, it's the the imagination of ankles. Yeah, you know the hypothetical ankles shredding his ankles Um, are they sexy or not? The mystery is what's around like?

Ooh, get a glimpse of ankle as she turns the corner. Um I can't help but uh think of um my long trash feature keeps making loads of like stuck in a dryer jokes Oh, yeah, it's like weird weird like algorithm porn And like which is apparently why you incest porn is really popular or like prevalent Being stuck in things. It's yeah, but I can't think of a way to make a joke about it. So Why are they?

Okay, they have a scene they have a deleted scene from this book that's like traffic going stuck in I don't know a pyramid and Tracy's like oh hi there brother Come back. Hello. Um, yeah We have funny funny sexy moment where Tracy keeps talking about her work as I had made and The pirate who works with chitters got like sexy tattoos and she's like oh interesting You know that one's technically impossible. This one is pretty good.

Um, he finds this very humiliating And like we'll get at the end when she gets all of the other people that she works with and then they like make him lie down and take off the shirts Yeah I haven't got any tattoos. I mean with that patreon tier that I get I get like I've seen some a karmosutra tattoo on myself That would be terrible So good Yeah I love to lick my friends. It's a great way to connect to someone. Yeah What she said they're gonna do like short updated bits at the beginning of each episode Just so they can talk about like where they are now It's like it is it is it is a technically a podcast or because that's just a delirory method for audio But I don't know it's also not sort of spiritually podcast.

You know what I mean? It's not the sort of typical Like format of the uh, the way the format is made It's more like um like a radio a BBC radio for like, you know when you get their podcast stuff where it's like we record it sounds Yeah, it's more like that sort of thing but like a competition they produced Uh the last the last BBC sound I listened to was like the news quiz and he was there like just drawing capitalism I'm not on board with that and I was listening to it like It's funny. I haven't listened to it since Jeremy Hardy died. Yeah, I liked I liked Jeremy Hardy I just think I just yeah, I listened to it recently and the more I listened to it the more I'm like this the politics And this is terrible and I hate it actually Please like when I was younger then you know, it's like it's like it's huge.

I'm risking his dad is a toy grandi and he probably is a journalist Because his dad is a toy grandi and he's like hello. He's like some mildly mild jokes about the government being kind of bad But then also never I don't know they're all They're part of the system man. Yeah, wild jokes about the government being kind of bad But then jokes about Jeremy Krubman for the next 20 minutes. It's like he's gone guys chill Why are you so obsessed with him?

This was like I had a woman come into the bookshop I was working at and I did tweet about this But like she was in the shop. She was like asking me where the fish shop No, I wasn't I was helping that she was like starting up a conversation with me while I was on the tail And like she came over after a while and she'd been in the politics section and I hate our politics section Because it's like Robert Peston's book because we keep getting copies of that handed in Which is in some ways reassuring because I hope it means people aren't reading them and they're just giving them a charity book shop But you know she came over with this like book about isn't politics ridiculous? And she put it down and she was like my daughter won't listen to me about any of the reasons Jeremy Corbyn is bad So I bought her a book by this book for her that's about all the silly reasons he's bad and I was like, ah, yeah I want me to say to her. I'm still confused You'll be like, oh, yes, I hate just terrible, isn't he?

God, I hate Jeremy Corbyn It's just like, yeah, it is funny that you're buying a door your daughter a book. She's gonna hate imagine what it'd be like I'm to job nip canoe, but not we'd all be eating lentils And everyone would have to grow their hair really long The only permissible materials which you could wear clothes are a hemp or taffeta everyone be wearing Birkenstocks awful sounds brilliant Sounds like you judge All Birkenstocks, no, yeah To add a furry bad Um, we were talking about being sexy on a boat. Um, there's so much to talk about We should leave we should leave chitters awesome cool pirate boat. I do like the idea of him trying to register in jelly baby for tax purposes It's very good.

Incredible joke. I like awful years. I'm kind of like, wow, okay chitter. Yeah, it's a shit like yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a cad Yeah, but isn't that kind of heart Maybe I love to date people whose ethics are odd with mine.

I'm like, yeah, damn you think the poor should be crushed and starved. That's that's pretty sexy Yes, pretty horny move pretty pretty pretty horny to me Um, so I highlighted this passage which is about all the gods that are coming back. Um, I love this the recurring thing of hat the vulture headed god Just appearing hating his statue the horrible ugly statue of him that they have and they can't in love Um, but I highlighted this bit which is we think that we think we believe that the gods are wise and just in powerful But what we really believe is that they are like our father after a long day And we think we believe that netherworld is a sort of paradise But we really believe it's right here and you go to it in your body and I'm in it and I'm never gonna get away never ever Damn, how are you good? It's just kind of true, you know people when people think of the gods they often like can't envisage an actual god Like being so they just sort of envisage like a really big person.

Mm-hmm That's kind of like a reverse of the ontological argument, isn't it? Like the greatest thing you can imagine Uh, is gods and therefore god must be the greatest thing. I mean I got that slightly wrong, but I mean, I wouldn't know enough to correct you, but yeah, every time I do anything I just have to regoggle the word um ontology and then be like What is it? Like I think I think it's not I suppose it is ontology's to do being, isn't it?

Yeah, isn't that it's like reality. It's like reality in existence because I did I did do first-year philosophy Um of like reality, but who knows really? Yeah, my brother like it's just like one night He was just turned to me and said like ontologically speaking holes are parasites and I was like, okay. That's pretty good.

Yeah He's right. I love that. That's really good. Yeah, sorry parasites holes have to function off something else cannot function on their own holes Holes holes in the ground in a jumper.

Oh, I was thinking of the film holes with No the concept of holes. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, it's it's an absence of something from a hole. Yeah, not a hole It's an absence in the holes of the thing.

Yeah, yeah, interesting stuff Dan What's pretty good ontology is that when there's ghosts ontology is like the way you have like the lingering effects of things um stretching over time? Okay? Yeah So When those ghosts it's like constantly referring to things from the past Um, and like the inability to move on like an illness client novel. Yeah Now I don't understand.

I think it's like sort of like we're constantly referring to like the second world war as like something which is now, you know Like seeing everything as wars. I saw saw like a thank you NHS sign and it was that like Churchill quote that was like never was so many Oh so much owed by so few about NHS workers. I was like They're not soldiers man. Everyone's the troops now.

Everyone's the troops And we're happy to let troops die. So what would them die to this really has turned into like minus the anniversary? You just become the British podcast I say Welcome to Brexit cast We're the remaining acts. They were we can get Brexit done now We're remaining.

Um, okay, so I don't think yes, I just think the idea you go. I was just gonna bring it back to the gods in this book. Um, so if you've got something else No, I don't keep going speak speak now or forever. I'll do please Um, yeah, so just the way that the gods are in this it's it's mentioned explicitly that dios did like invent some of them At the beginning of the kingdom in order to like persuade people to study fine arts and stuff And now he's very pissed off because even though he's invented them, they're not doing as their tolls Which I think it is pretty good because he's I think he's just very interesting as a character Yeah, I'm I'm finding kind of hard to be like a really good antagonist But I don't think he's even like he's an antagonist in the literary sense But I nothing he does.

Yeah, but comes with any form of malice. No He's really hated. No, he's just doing his job Yeah, it's almost like rather than good versus evil. It's like change versus the instinct to like cling onto the past and the never changing nature of like the kingdom Um progress versus conservatism.

Yeah, and like he will he will never let go the past because he can't like he is he can't He literally can't and it's like when he goes back in time and he sees his staff he thinks in his head If he doesn't pick it up Then he could just he could maybe be free of it And he's like the best thing is just not to pick it up But he can't resist because he has to go make it back into the same kingdom and talk about pyramids and invent the gods and go Guide to the people who he sees because he thinks that they need his guidance And so he can never escape it because he's in a time loop But also because his brain is in such a way that he can never act differently He has almost no memories as well Yeah, the time kind of any existence almost is a moment for him because it's looped He doesn't remember any kind of family or personal life. He's just the same the same daily ritual over and over again Yeah, which goes back to him like speaking in the present tense at the beginning of this section Last week, that's that's really interesting to me Just the fact that the whole like Dios seemed to avoid the past tense kind of thing and like the way he seems I just thought that was really like well done. Mm. It's very cool to me Yeah Very good, Terry.

I just yeah, it's it's very cool They have to destroy the pyramids and symbolically move on from that sort of observance of the past in order to both move on as a society and like physically move on from that trap period of time Which pretty pretty good pretty good symbology Terry. Yeah, it seems like some themes I'm trying to look through my notes. The issue is I don't think I put any of the themes into my highlights I think I just put like this guy's called autocute Yeah, I will have that one that's basically from that section That's like the trouble with gods is that after enough people start believing in them They begin to exist and what begins to exist is and what was originally intended. Yeah, yeah Religions always change.

Yeah, that's a classic Terry theme and yeah, Dios having invented them It's like I thought he would be like a gentle sort of dude who's got this head or whatever but instead They're like big scary animal creatures Like out of control and causing chaos everywhere all the time Yeah, they're just like dumb kaiju. They just had a rampage around doing whatever Yeah, yeah like when they have a basketball game and one of the pre starts narrating and then they threw a priest in the river It's just like um tepic coming back and being like where the priests and then we'll be like I think they're throwing each other in the river And he's like yeah, that sounds about right Yeah, yeah when i'm tapping sin fvb He talks about the fvb and gods and he's like they all look like people which Dios always seem to be suspicious of because he's like yeah What do you do when they look just like big people? That's kind of weird um they go around they And obviously if you be in gods are like, you know greek god, so they just have all their personal dramas Which you know Egyptian gods have personal dramas, so yeah, okay all the time. Yeah, sometimes you have a commiting battle Your horse and set that is who won um horris.

Yeah, because that's the bad one He kills it syrus because he's like mean i hate my brother He hates his brother. It's a typical brother thing, you know One of those brother conflicts are you like Put his body into a tree and then you chop him up and throw him into the into the winds and then you have to go and get all the body bits and then put them together god i'm constantly doing that I know sibling relationships are hard Imagine a foundational myth if you will where two brothers uh part of it and then one of them kills the other I can't think of a single other time. That's um Cropped up to tell you the truth George. What if they're the same baby and they're split into two and then they become a world with one point um Yeah, derivative This was another thing about the recording you guys did last week.

I don't know anything about the bible because like you guys were like Joseph and i was like no listen to it should i know Joseph? Lucy now i'm a dedicated christian I live opposite of church i can't not be The sort of knowledge seeps through the church into George's head when sleeping yeah Catholic or something i have like i have a bible stories as a kid and i did i go do a school where they told his church stories Yeah, i went to a christian school and i do remember the Joseph thing i just didn't remember the dream part They all like get mixed i gotta mix that with David which one is David David's like a son that he does some stuff There are like sums of people That is the bible it's just loads of sons David's the one my his brother's trying to kill him or is that Joseph again? That's Joseph i think Okay, David kills Goliath but i can't remember much more and then he becomes a king of Israel Yeah, i remember that bit. Yeah, then he wrote the song hallelujah.

Oh there was a seep of a poem Yeah Please the lord Okay Um, you don't know what to call a dream codes do you? That was in the bible they had the word technicabic Wow his technicabic dream code pretty cool. Yeah, also be your fly The bible says if you see Joseph his he's got a really cool coat if you think about a disco ball it's a bit like that That's what it says in the bible That's that pharaoh It says pharaoh pretty epic man pharaoh is a bit like Elvis listen we have a lot of fun here talking about Um terry prat shit, but do you know another bearded guy who wrote a great story? You have to pick the pretty cool dude, but you want to know about another cool dude Jesus Christ I would love to do like a youth pastor kind of thing but about terry prat shit's books You may have heard about Moses parting the river, but have you heard about tepic parting the river?

That was cool. That was a very epic moment in this book actually Yeah, it was cool. All the alligators like flow out of it crocodiles, but yeah, whatever They're different animals. No, you're going American Charlotte.

You call the tortoises turtles now. You calling the alligators the crocodiles Listen, I just say we have a British one. We are British now This is this is pretty Sorry old chap. They must have put my wrong brain in this morning.

I'll show you a bladder dude I it's women they're getting educated to use days with over heats the brain. Yes. Yes, indeed Okay, the crocodiles for out the river. Oh, which I may be did actually make me sad because then the people of Jelly baby do immediately start killing them all which because they eat people all the time.

Yeah, but that's just what they do That's a lot of them Um, I don't know it's I'm pretty evil. Uh, she's in the I guess about kinesis so she can She gets about kinesis so she can drop rocks on their heads because she hates them so much at the end I think if they just introduced hippos to the environment then they would sort of solve the crocodile problem You know they do exist in the same They do manage each other's population Really? I don't know what's hippos. I know hippos fuck up crocodiles, but Crocodiles can do it to hippos as well, but also they're competing for the same food.

So you'll have less of both Hippos are vegetarian Fuck off. They're not are they? They are yeah Because they're really angry Just all the enormous carnivorous teeth, but for fighting purposes only Well, yeah, there's like this thing. I'm piece of I'm piece laughing in vegetarian, but I couldn't kill an instant But georgias teeth are sex inches long and we just accept that about it It's very hard to wear in tarranties for me.

I don't know. It's also hard to close your mouth I have to buy so much or I'll be extra white every every month. This is bankruptcy me Just for normal pocket house house. I was excited I Think you're getting some screamer short on next month I love crocodiles.

I'm very very fond of them. I did go to a gator land when I was in america Oh, that's amazing. Do you get to go on one of those um, adults? I don't think so.

We just saw like an alligator in a big in like a weird alligator coliseum Just like eat a bunch of meat and then you gotta hold one, but it's like got a rubber band on its mouth So it can't bite you. I got to hold a crocodile in Australia Was it handy? Uh, it was like what I felt love. They're kind of cool.

They're really old apex predator unchanged since ancient they began speaking Don't need to change that design. Well, speaking of fucked up animals. Camels. Am I right?

Yeah, how many knees do they have? They've just got like a bunch of knees. It's hard to keep track They're all knees, but also they're so good at maths that they can manipulate quantum realities And they can just flip through like hypothetical Probabilities and then cause them to come into being like magic really? It's well, no, but it's just as tepic says in this he's like magic is just like knowing which numbers to change lightly or to push at Um, when he's a god.

Yeah, it's Terry sort of bridging that asymoph quote about technology and magic and this terry's like maybe magic isn't real Actually, this is sort of connecting to um, sorcery. No, no, sorry to equal rights. Um, Simon magic. Yeah, where he's sort of working everything out as if it's an equation Yeah, where he's like is the magic becomes like the numbers at the center of the universe And then that's sort of how you change things is by like knowing what the numbers are and what they mean Yeah, although in this one, um, there's no dungeon dimensions.

They don't appear in this Which is good. Do they ever appear again? Yeah, okay, right? Around anymore rent swings.

There's none He was in the dead he was in so yeah pretty sad. Alrighty. Alrighty. You read that from that good book From that good book From the good book like fantastic.

He's not in any other good books China sounds kind of like a slur Yeah, but um, so I think it continues to call him Chitty Chitty, do you think they have a heart sex? Yes, it was boarding school. I don't think in that way I think they just like don't go off in the same room together or got something in company Lemme just go. Yeah, just like rinse when yeah, well, so's my thanks.

I like the swings in this a lot This is a good sphinx story. Um, it's just good that he got out of it by being such an annoying pet And I think it's fun Also because the sex is a very bright. The sex is very dumb That's one riddle and it hasn't forced about it Since it came into existence. Tepic just doesn't care.

He's not scared by it in the slightest Yeah, he's not a mission. Oh, he's not trying to answer the riddle and he's thinking like yeah, I could probably take this Sphinx if I needed to the boobs are too big it'll put it on balance Yeah, it's like it's fastest too large Um, I liked also the Sphinx trying to decide what the terminology for its young would be like whether it would be chicks or cubs It changes its mind. It's like cubs and chicks. Yeah At least it's not the chimeira.

Yeah, what is a chimeira again? It's like a lion it's a lion with an extra head of the goat and a snake Every smile yes, it doesn't fly but it breathes fire and I just have to go to this back. It was belephon. Yeah, I think Piggasus with the ones who killed yeah, he likes to spear in its mouth and it melts with the fire and then the kills Yeah, pretty metal.

Yeah, it is literally He tries to fly to mount an empress on um on piggas and the gods tend to be in it I think it'd be your whilst when it stings. It's the piggas and he falls off I thought it was a horse fly but it could oh yes. Yes. Yes.

I think it might be right. It's some kind of Wow, that's a pretty lame horse. Um My horse could fly but also get over it. I mean falls in a bush and gets blinded.

That's me. Yeah, but bites it Um, it's just really let's suck. So, you mean I just won't go and see the gods. What are you gonna do with them?

You know, I think he's related to one of them. So he's going up to you. Yeah, but who isn't please let me be one of you dad Um, he does that all father problems. It's all father problems.

All history is father issues Back in those days you couldn't you couldn't like you couldn't be a young woman just walking around without like a shower of gold coming down and suddenly you're pregnant Yeah, I believe it's a golden shower in that story. I'll think about that. Can't even go the first golden shower. Um What the fuck greeks?

Yeah, you can't even go near those balls. Mm-hmm We have society. Can't be stored in the rain You have like institutionalised military Nazi golden shower gods But they um they invented mochracy, which is where everyone gets about apart from women and slaves and people who aren't very intelligent or people who people don't like or um foreigners or foreigners. Yeah, damn right who says oh bloody foreigners We are a Brexit cast now.

We are welcome back to the bit I'm Laura. I'm Laura coon-stook and people don't seem to realise that I'm a Tory Yeah, the number of people I've had to tell that she ran for a position as a Tory counselor and they're like what? I'm like, yes. No the BBC it's unbiased Robert past number's a Tory and university like in the Tory society university.

I think shocking literally no one In the Tory society. Yeah, my friend, he knocked it down some steps. Oxford. Oh my friend for some reason went to Oxford You don't have a really hard time of it after knocking the lala down some steps even accidentally.

Yeah, gotta imagine you actually You just like oh, I know I ran over the lala Sorry, I'm sorry, you should be a Tory This is what we're talking about the beginning about this being a misogynist podcast I Don't let's actually hate feminists next door All of them every time I live anywhere near me and then I hate them This is a podcast solely for misogynists and you just have to accept that about yourself if you're Yeah, okay. It's okay in this book if women attend the symposium their brains will melt. Well, suppose you're so fucking funny I just I love everything about it. It's so it's so good.

I love that I come ace up. I stop being there Oh, what's his name in this? I saw the terrible story. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah, they're just like telling the story I'm just really shit Yeah, he's like I know was just a name he had a limper and then the other guy was there and then When they got in the other guy she had a squint maybe but she was a bit like she was attractive But then the other guy came up with an idea, you know, um, maybe it was was name. You know the other guy Yeah, it's so funny. It's great.

I'm the guy who's there as a listener Just the idea of the idea of the other could hire an attentive listener to hear you talk for hours and hours Nightline employee Actually I really like that because it implies that no one wants to listen to them because it's just a bunch of like complete idiots Yeah Well, it says they will tell big notes that he listens to all the philosophers and people talk to each other that they're all just yelling a lot No one's really paying attention to literally anything anyone else is saying. Yeah, which I think is probably accurate Only good great class where was diogenes because he just likes to wind people up That's pretty good philosophy of being a really good prankster. Yeah, like what's that YouTube Welcome to my newest prank channel. It's diogenes your fucking boy fit Wanking wanking wanking in a barrel brackets gone sexual It's gonna be great to be a great philosopher and you just like you're just like a weird dude who thinks a lot about like a specific area of Stuff and you just spend a lot of time having cultists who follow you and having people try and murder you But you also just get to chill, you know, I'm thinking of what it would be like to be a stoic Like imagine being one of the first stoics and being like actually I'm not gonna have any fun I'm gonna make myself deliberately miserable and not enjoy anything just so that Trailing off I'm gonna start that you don't have fun.

You just you yeah, okay, you're shoe Epicureanism you you're shoe materialism, which I guess does not make you miserable, but most of the stoic seem to be really miserable. Yeah, I'm looking directly at you They're just kind of a rational skeptic such as you know not with a dialectical materialist. Yeah, very different Mm-hmm Vetchus It's like people always talk about the great philosophers in the past and then a lot of like enlightenment figures So these people only exist of class of people I never existed because they were waited on hand and foot by society Yeah, yeah, and they had a bunch of like slaves and shit Yeah, they had slaves like in ancient Greek ones half the time like they're wise when I called basically not allowed to leave the building Yeah being a woman in Greece f-king suck. Yeah, really awful I love the idea of just being just having to sit inside and make a tapestry and then sometimes your husband would come home I mean they have their own half of the house which must have been at least nice just to get like a bit of respite from it Just to have a bit of a break You're not that out much.

No You don't you don't get to suppose no your brain will explode unless you're a hittaira But you're like you're like a really clever section I think I'd want to be a hittaira. This sounds sort of chill. Yeah, hang out No compared to being like a wife drink some wine, flex some wine dregs into a bowl. Oh, yeah Listen to some like incredibly row-tund man with a big white white beard Sort of sweating and talking about mama's and something It's like actually you know what everything's just one just one thing You're like yeah, yeah, man.

That sounds about right Um if you're in a symposium, you get to recline, which is pretty good. I think we should over-cline only if you're a dude Oh, yeah true, but like who goes to shit? Um, I like pythagarin pythagarin in this uh, it's very stressed about um, pi Yeah, he's really upset that it's not not an integer. Yeah, he's like why can't it just be three like what?

You don't understand that though. Why couldn't it just be like what would a circle look like if it was three? Uh like a multi-dimensional thing. Mm-hmm.

I mean, I guess it's already multi-dimensional. Um Like a I don't know. It's impossible to imagine isn't it? Yeah, if we had the right base number system couldn't it be three?

Yeah, if we adjusted stuff because I may I may be talking about my arse here I think I am and I don't have any philosophical training, but um, isn't mass just a language of its own used to describe Realities. Yeah, can we just call pi three and then change everything else around that right? Does that work? Can that be done?

Why not? Because it's basically the thing it's relative to would also change. Yes, they're not. Yes.

Yeah, that's true. You can't just like Because one isn't only one but it's also the existence of a single thing. Um, and so No, you can't realize that now I think you're wrong on this. I think I'm right.

Sure. I don't know much about mass or physics as you but If I'm onto something here, look if we made our number base system Um, like it didn't go up by the same amount every time It was in some way I don't know anything about mass. I'm talking shit. Okay.

Yeah, this is destroying me. That would be better. I mean There is an argument to me that pi is done because we should use um, tau instead, which is just too pi Um because then it would refer to the amount of times the radius can fit around the circumference of a circle rather than the diameter And this just helps for like um other parts of mass while you're doing like exponentials and stuff. Mm-hmm I don't know what these are.

I mean not go ask. Yeah, okay. Move on for a mass talk because it's e to the ipi Okay, I like e to the ipi tau equals one. Um, I have a highlighted quote.

I really liked it towards the end. Tat script says it Um, taklusp tat script Tat script tat script tat script we're gonna use everything p so I'm pronouncing p's from now on my cat is now called to tell me It's like a soft p. Tell me. I don't know It's a soft p.

I've decided to I've decided to put my foot down on this one. I'm deciding to be contrary Okay, um, anyway, we want to get kicked off of our brexit podcast He's looking at the pyramid of like all the ancestors building up and he's like what a workforce He said I mean the ones at the bottom are supporting the whole weight and I was like dream works. I Interesting So are they are they now? I didn't like that they formed like a human pyramid.

I was just like oh pyramids pretty good. Yeah I want to see them do one of those motorcycle display teams. So they do an upside down pyramid like I'm motivated like yeah They do something like wing walking. Yeah, because you know pyramids break in shape It's like all filtering to a point and tap it's like all the history and all everything is filtering down to me And it's like oh pyramids everywhere.

Have you seen the documentary cheer? What if the mummies did they routine from cheer? That would be good. Yeah, the share leading documentary.

Oh Okay, it's pretty wild and I think it'd be cool. I've had an idea in last week We were talking about like pyramids keeping razor sharp. Yeah, well, and then I was thinking about the also finding like preserved Animals particularly cats in the water pups. Should we should we start selling some small model pubs that keep your razor sharp?

Keep your cat dry Version of a pyramid because pyramids are a bit foreign. Yeah, like we have one invention architecture in Britain That's the triathlon and the the modern weatherspoons conversion of an old old theater or warehouse Yeah, I think it's been more appropriate for our newly broke regs hit podcast That we sell small model the moon underwater or something where the spoons Um, I mean we could just like a selectors item or explicitly for for its events both for keeping for keeping your razor blade sharp Can you put your can you put your head in it and it keep your thoughts sharp if we made them big enough? Yes? What if we sold wetherspoons Just like just like life-size replicas so like a building that's a whole stuff and like a stock of drinks and food as well Um, yeah, can we promote conservative party politicians inside the wetherspoons for some reason?

Well, if you want to yeah, cool. I tend fake tan wear horrible shirts and have weird hair and be a I mean, yeah, it's all up to you George. You're allowed you can do it. I believe in you.

It's very encouraging. Thank you You're welcome if we put the effort in us the host of brops at cast can become massive dories. You own mother spoons Why else more pups always it's always been my dream. I know you'll raise your never be it's been hard on your cats will never be so dry dry Yes, it's called the bench a pair over pub Fuck you don't Um, now we show we should go on dragons then I think we'd make a killing in some respects We'd be like listen, we have so many great ideas and they would give us all the stuff that we could ever want Yeah, that's just gonna be one of the harry and paul sketches with with the dragons den one So they're just covering covered in sweat.

Yeah, this is a kitten stomper Just sweating through three whole different pale pink shirts We're like a trench coat and I'm sweating through the arms of the trench coat But listen, I've invented this thing where I sell second hand watch watches on the street And it's full of watches but also just the sweat is jumping down Not at the watch anymore. They all got what a damage And you're also three children underneath it Standing on each other's shoulders each one wearing a watch and Pyramids Pyramids oh, there's this bit. You know this really was pyramids this was pyramids This book really really was pyramids it says a bit at the end of this book where it says there's like the bit where Tepid caps off the necropolis All the caps off the pyramid and It makes like a lot of light but no sound and it says only after it's invading the necropolis And it's impossible brilliance for several seconds of the sound come and it was sound that winds itself up through the bones creeps Into every cell of the body and tries with some success to turn the inside out It was too loud to be called noise and this reminded me of and you haven't seen this movie So it won't make sense to you Charlotte But you know in the end of rise of Skywalker where suddenly the emperor goes like sicko Oh, I have seen rises though. Oh, you have when did you?

Yeah, oh you hadn't seen it for a while. They had each other. No, I didn't watch it until I got very drunk with my parents And then I sort of suffered through it. Yeah, no, that's there's the bit at the end where the emperor goes base boosted like he And then there's like I'm not seen a base boosted emperor remixes that's You know, you gotta be the change you want to see in the world.

That's right. I think it's up to you Mm. Yeah, you've got you've got um, create a job creative cloudy. You can do that.

I'm Lucy We all all I'm have my Adobe creative cloud Yes, it enables me to do my job Yeah, it's uh, I think that comes with an audio editing software because I think I looked before Why would you need audio editing software when you have the excellent program audacity Which I used to edit with and takes about 10 minutes to perform any action Yeah, it's like if you zoom out on the tracks Program to take some time and I'm like if I touch my laptop, I will lose it. It's gonna crash It's really good stuff listen. It's free. The thing about this podcast is that it's diy is homegrown We have no money.

It's all free software with it with a plucky baseball team that goes to the the finals. Yeah Yeah, we face off against Amanda in the podcast finals. Amanda is played by Tim Curry and Lucy is played by Tom. Well, it's not Tom Jones.

Right. Yeah, Tom Jones. So yeah That guy who people think is a pedophile, but it's actually just the guy from castaway Tom Hanks Oh, yeah, okay. Oh, why are Tom Hanks?

I like him, but I don't know Just something about me and Tom Hanks It might there's a vibe. I was gonna say yeah, it was gonna be us facing up against an ander with um Her guests beloved British comedian lanny henry. Um, and we're gonna have to outperform each other on the stage Yeah, how was a weird one lanny henry? Why why why not any henry?

What's I don't get that like connection? No, I know What does he do? He hasn't I don't think he's not a lot of anything. He does charity gigs.

Oh, um, I was thinking about I mean We talked about this other bonus episode, but um, I feel like she just had like an agent or something or her terrible Like poorly paid overwork assistant and got them to like send a bunch of emails to a bunch of agents And then this was like what they scraped up off the floor of these at these guests She's daddy henry I'm like, yeah, well, we're not doing anything for the next like two months As well, he's like, well, I haven't got a lot of gigs on at the moment So, you know, I'll do a podcast with someone who's apparently a famous singer that sounds interesting Well, does anything have anyone to wear? Um, let me have a look. Uh, I did like that the book four of this is called the book of 101 things a boy can do Yeah, that was a bit out of nowhere That's very funny. So this whole thing about going forth Uh, tepic goes forth the whole book is actually called pyramids and then brackets the book of going forth And at the end uh, tepic has like an image of someone writing on a pyramid and it's like Um, it's easy to go forth.

It's um going back again. That's harder Um, no, it's and at the very end. Um, once again, the yoss goes forth. So it's just a lot of people going forth Although dios is also going back again.

Yeah, and then back and then forth and forth back and forth I didn't know why didn't they go said this was technically a quote from last week. So I didn't get to say it. Um, okay, so it was ill Little sick. Very Winston punched you in the past.

Oh dear. Um, it was the car It was um, the oss's hands open and close fitfully. He felt like a royalist might feel a good royalist A royalist who cut out picking all the royals and stuck them in a scrapbook A royalist who wouldn't hear a word said about them They did such a good job that they can't answer back. It's not all the royals turned up in his living room and started rearranging the furniture It was really good to me Pretty good.

Yeah, mental image. This is literally just that like weird instagram catholic like catholic like catholic This guy was really upset that barbed us was leaving the common world Just like apparently mucky Having like his VEJ celebrations with his apparently mama fight grandmother Everything is fucking union jacks He's so funny as well. He's just like a small Very round very blue-eyed man just like staring at the camera like his soul is leaving his body. It's extremely good I do know people like this from my old school.

It was like guys It was one guy in my school who was like 11 or something Oh, this is a bit later on. We were in the same like elf like PSH class Was that opposite each other because the teachers liked to watch us argue? Um and like he was such a like royalist a weird Tory shithead and it's just like at what point What isn't it weird to be like a 14-year-old and be arguing for the death penalty? Which was like every conversation we ended up having was him being like well actually I think we should bring back hanging It's like His mum boiled his carrots for tea.

Yes, we should execute them He's running as a Tory counselor now, so Well, don't worry. It's now a legal and inclement to teach any anti capitalist ideas. That's fun. Did you see that?

Yeah, also also it's gonna be legal for mi5 to do break laws secret crimes and please It wasn't any interest that my party already was mi5 please border force immigration. Um, yeah, just like america then I mean just like here, but saying the quiet part out. Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that was like already true You know, it's just oh and also and also things we're just ranting about British stuff The government pushing forward a bill to protect soldiers if committed war crimes from being convicted or in any way punished for committing war crimes I liked it best where labor was like we're going to have to stay in on this so that we can appeal to the center Because they don't have spines and then obviously they're being ridiculed by both sides now because And they use it as an opportunity just to purge more left wingers from the shadow cabinet Yeah, because they love it. Yeah, because the shadow cabinets were like so there's some of the left wingers were like um, like not here We're saying I think yeah, maybe maybe we should actually have the rule of law And the x-direction of public property prosecutions kissed on was like no, we can't have the rules law That's threatening to our base.

Okay, some said actually war crimes are really cool Look all of all of those people crawling away like wounded from the British like the paratroopers on bloody sunday They deserve to be shot in the back. Mm-hmm apparently it was fine. Oh and Just becoming British British British the British trio No, but they're like the fact that some has invited wealthy donors who dropped out in Corbin was in charge back with like patreon level Promises I got to come to exclusive labor party donor dinners and it's like this is a patreon tick here Listen if you don't say if you don't say the amount of the labor To the labor party they will shout your name out prime minister I would hate that Yeah, you'll get exclusive t-shirt with kiss dama's hammy face on Perfectly squared So much I think someone just sprays his hair on every morning printed onto this like a lump of gas It doesn't move it's like all those um the oh five I've heard it's where it used to be football is bouncing Yes, off their perfectly gelled hair and their hair would even don't want it because I think like liquids are meant into it You know in um, you know in community where it's got pss dad and his hair is like just made of ivory Yeah Well, um, you know, but it's okay because I read a guardian piece by Andrew ronsey that said he's serious about power He's serious about power She's why I'm serious about the concept of power power exists. That's why I'm just way better is it goes past me You know, there was never there was never like an election in the past five years where labor got really close to actually winning power with a radical manifesto Listen, that wasn't that radical, but you know that didn't happen.

Do you know who takes do you know who takes power seriously? Deos the high priest Well, if you think about it, do you have this kind of a kid starma of the jelly baby? I mean in a way, yeah proceduralism It's like, you know, you you concentrate on the ritual of things and then that keeps everything running more or less the same and nothing gets better We can't talk anymore about British politics. I'm I'm leading the discussion.

Um, another thing What kind of name is cute? Like the first leader of the Labor Party had the same name. Really? Yeah, kia hadi.

Oh, but but he was like a socialist though Yeah, this is a time is cyclical. This is like the first and last king's roan bean called the purpose Also, I'm in jenji's cat. This purpose is a good name. Of course.

It's own jenji's cat. That's very fun Pay page on tier and you page on tier if we reach that, um, we will buy erin jenji's a clashing cough He wouldn't use it. He'd report us to please Oh, and jenji's are just snitch on us here. We like these people sent me a clashing To be honest, it's probably people outside his house dealing his posts And yeah, we shouldn't joke like he generally don't get a lot of death.

Yeah, exactly. Yeah That's why he should accept the clashing of coffee Okay, I'll knock out with our British brain bowl. So, um, yeah, this is in trash future. Um Yeah trash trash future trash trash your future.

Yeah, I like the idea of sorting a phoebe both simultaneously creating big wooden horses And then both hiding in it and just like waiting for something to happen. Yeah Fuck, I really don't want to go to war, but I guess we have to Yeah, they're like it's like narrative determinism. It's like you just sort of you know logic takes you in the place where you have to have a war Um, it's just how it is It's pretty thematic for the whole book of just like tradition being Like calcified in that whole area. Yeah, they're all just following through the motions because that's how it's done Yeah, yeah, just the same ritual every single day for seven thousand years But actually longer because he's in a time loop and um as soon as they have the opportunity if he gets all have to go to war because it's just what they do It's actually was we're actually like that Yeah, yeah, I wish we could just be a big horse and then go home But instead the British government is selling horses that they drop on yem and he's like, okay, we gotta stop George I can't stop It's so hard to not talk about it.

I know it's just distressing it But we have to not because this is our funny podcast and which we talk about so Terry Pratchett Except no sir. Yeah, it was probably this though when this is written It's a major That's it. It's that's your job major probably. I don't know quite when it was real.

I feel like it's major. I think that was a little earlier Oh epic, guys. We got him 89 Donald Trump's tax returns have been published Oh, yeah, that's gonna change everyone's minds. I thought he was all right I know I've seen that he didn't declare something on his taxes, which is that's made up my mind He paid he paid 750 pounds in income tax in 2016 and 2017 That's incredible.

That's I pay more. I pay more than that in council tax and I earn under 15k Striped bear by council tax and I pay way more than that last year. Oh, it's so fucking bad I would like to know uh Accountants. Yeah I have to be able to afford accountants the catch like tire clesp um to a who is in a counter to be I can't remember to be Accountant to a or not to be to be exactly No, it was it was actually who was prime minister when this came out What you're saying 89 89 financialization was well along the way then so That looks kind of interesting when you look at the um the middle section of this book when they're talking about the workers rights for the pyramid builders They should have joined the year But also, you know, they um those bookends with um the tire clesp being like, oh we can I'm being sent to do all the palace accounts And he's like, yes, I'm gonna create all these um these new levies and trade fees and stuff And you know interesting interesting interesting.

Although they walk at plumbing, which is pretty good. Plumbing is pretty good Love to have plumbing. I'd be very sad if I didn't have plumbing. Yeah, where would I think You think but you just think over a large hole for shit.

Yeah, so it would be like uncomfortable And I would be like this is bad and sometimes take a plate Wait really? Um from the gases so so it goes boom. Yeah Yeah, it gets hot and then it's got all the gases that it can it can set fire and explode Yeah, um, they're like how do you how can you have lived for seven thousand years and he's like seven thousand years It's just one day at a time. That's how I feel during lockdown Put that on a motivational pace and stick on the wall So how did we feel about Tracy at the end of this book?

I think it's very funny that she was like no, it's fine that you're my brother. We're still Do we fat topics pretty hard like yeah Yeah, yeah, but not not not let him read if they're literally brother A half brother and sister. Yeah, probably But it's not it's not it's yet an incredibly Inbred father. I think she's interesting.

I like that she does become queen in the end and then they're like Her hereditary comes through and she gets more queenly. Yeah. Yeah, what do we feel about this whole her registry business going? He uses it a lot.

I don't think it's real No But then she has been close to king's for a long time and she has been brought up almost by by the by her father who was the king But just in a different role Simon and she'd also sort of you know She could have also it could be argued that she has been um, she's learned learned that way. It's it's not just um It's it's nature. It's nurture as well that she knows how kings act Also, she just like doesn't want to have to deal with all the bullshit that will be other kings have done But they just sort of go along with what the high priest says she's like no They gotta shit high priest now, which is much better than having a good one. Yeah, so there's a lot to learn from a bad advisor Well, is that everything?

I think so I think it might be then I think we should we should take it to The end I guess if there's a thing to add this is a pretty good book. I really enjoyed this one I really liked it very clever very clever. So what what are we on next because it's guards guards neck? Well, but obviously we've done that We don't got to go to a thing that and we we can know and we're going straight to eric Everyone's calling to goodreads fast across to cross out eric.

Yeah, I don't hate Eric. So it should be fun It'd be very funny. Um, and then we're back into the ones that I have not read before at that point So have you read have you read? Oh, I have to go to have any of them apart from the first third of oh shit.

That's cool Gunbook what's it called? Yeah, so this will be my first time reading eric. Damn. My files tried reading eric It's fast.

Um, I think it's quite short. I think we might be doing it in one episode because you can just like read through it And that way we don't have to spend two episodes talking about like very short chapters of eric fast. Um, I think um, yeah Do you write it for like a world book date or something because it's like that kind of size of book? Um, yeah, it's like the size of books.

You don't used to get in cereal boxes. Yeah, exactly What you got books in cereal boxes? Yeah I think we never got that kind of cereal. Oh, I think we just ate oats in milk That's oh my god.

Sure. So what did you read during the morning if you weren't reading the back of cereal boxes? You're very very tiredly ate your wita books like loads of um, like books Good books not nutritional information about Wheaties I love to eat my oats in milk like fucking six in the morning because they make us get up a stupid time And it's like a 45 minute bus journey to school and it's still done because it's January and then man that takes the bus stop And it's like minus three and you but your where it's the uniform and now where's a coat? So you don't work it.

Those are the days You can just fill yourself shivering through like the awful polyester of your uniform. Yeah, I used to just wear like my shitty school branded fleece All the time until I was like maybe I should be cool and started wearing my big black jackets, which I still wear Um, so it's very it's very weird that every single study about children's mental health and capabilities is like yeah Kids need to get up at like 10. Um, and every single study says this and yet schools are like no, I think that will start at eight Yeah, and I lived out of catchment and had to get up at six thirty to catch a bus which then took 45 minutes to get to school So it's just fine. Hmm.

Let's get um anyway Yeah, so next week we'll be reading eric, which I will say star bit's called it a series of hilarious pokes at the cliche that is hell the cliche that is hell Uh garden and dovoire conversely go does what conversely considered it downright bad the only desk or book he actively disliked I Tell right bad. I um Hello cliche. I don't know how is a cliche. I'm not sure that's what you call it.

There's all cliche ways of display of portraying hell I thought those but yeah, but the hell itself is a nickname It's like this religion has a hell cliche.
