#22 - The Origin of Christianity: The Jewish Revolt | Ralph Ellis

In this compelling episode (#22), host Matty and historical researcher Ralph Ellis examine the origins of Christianity through the lens of the Jewish Revolt against Rome, arguing it as a pivotal backdrop shaping early Christian narratives. They discuss the lead-up to the revolt, key players and power struggles (including the Year of Four Emperors), Mary Magdalene's anointing of Jesus as a symbolic or historical act, Saul's (Paul's) views on women, the Emmanuel prophecy, and chronological discrepancies in biblical timelines. Using graphs and evidence analysis, Ellis connects these elements to broader historical context, questioning traditional interpretations and highlighting how revolt-era events influenced doctrine and figures in the emerging faith. A revisionist exploration blending archaeology, chronology, and socio-political forces in early Christianity's formation.Chapters:00:00 Overview of Leadup to the Jewish Revolt11:18 Mary Magdalene's Anointing of Jesus14:35 Saul's View on Women16:04 Chronological Chasm Graph18:32 The Emmanuel Prophecy19:26 Chronological Chasm Evidence25:40 The Reason for The Jewish Revolt and Its Historical Context42:10 The Revolt's Key Players47:38 The Year of Four Emperors and the Power StruggleFollow me on: X: https://x.com/Vocation0110 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6EkGvmnGiWrN46iGasNRp2 Apple podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/vocation/id1865523490 Find Ralph on: Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RalphEllis/videos X channel: https://x.com/ralphyellis Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ralph.ellis.144/ Paperback and Tablet books: Egyptian Testament Series: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753FWD9D The King Jesus Trilogy: https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-King-Jesus-Trilogy/dp/B09Q3H8H84 Audio books: https://play.google.com/store/audiobooks/series?id=iXAuHAAAABimZM
