She is the co-founder of the Criminal Justice and Police Accountability Project (CPAProject) a Bhopal based litigation and research intervention focused on building accountability against the criminalisation of Vimkuta jatis by the Police and the criminal justice system. Nikita has a BA in Political Science from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, LLB from Government Law College, Mumbai and LLM from Azim Premji University, Bangalore. In this podcast we discussed: History of Vimukta jati, also known as Denotified Tribes and why they are constantly being targeted by police. Nikita explains how the whole criminal justice system is designed to harm poor and Bahujans of this country. What are the ways to look for accountability beyond this compromised justice system?
