23.17: Matthew 10: Jesus Sends Out His Disciples to Preach the Good News to the Jews

In my life, I’ve sold cars, time-shares, pianos,  even encyclopedias (remember those?). In each job, there was a training  period. Then, I was assigned a mentor or trainer to “shadow” me. If I  was speaking with a customer and got stuck, the trainer was there to  help. Once the trainer felt I was ready to go solo, I was on my own.  However, the trainer was always nearby in the event I needed help. Here in Matthew 10, Jesus feels that his disciples are ready to go out on their own to preach the Good News. In Luke 9,  it says that He sent them out in pairs. It’s safer that way. Before  they went, He gave them authority as well as specific instructions that  we need to take to heart ourselves. Let’s dig in… Keep reading in my blog where there are links to dig deeper... Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ - This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.  If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.  Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
