23.18 Syncretism, the Larger Church's Largest Issue (Part 2)

In today's final episode on the issue of syncretism being the larger church's largest issue, Pastor Craig continues sharing the alarming statistics of how the church, its pastoral leaders, and congregants, all suffer from a lack of maintaining a biblical worldview as followers of Christ.  Our sin issues are often times played out in embracing other worldviews blending in with our partial adherence to the biblical worldview.  And it isn't something we arrive only when we become  adults, says Dr. George Barna, but is shaped soon after we leave the womb and eventually live by entrenched beliefs in those ways early on into our teen years.  That's why parental oversight in Christian homes must include teaching and mentoring what it is to live in alignment with God's standards taught in God's Word.  The church is to play a supportive role in that process, but when you have youth pastors who also in large part do not live by or apply biblical standards in their own lives, how then can they pass on truths that don't apply to themselves personally?  Someone once noted that principles to live by are not only taught, but caught.  So the challenge in today's church is to remember God's desire is we all live in alignment with biblical truth, or suffer the consequences of syncretistic sins that are presently running rampant through the Body of Christ.  Good old repentance, sorrow for sin, and forsaking the sins that so easily beset us is needed now more than ever.  Oh that the Spirit of God would move upon His church, His people, and His leaders as we deal with these supernaturally based challenges.  Intellectual consent is not enough.  Godly sorrow that leads to repentance and leaves no regret is the only thing that will help prepare the church to be what Paul said to the Ephesians in chapter 5:27, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.  That's the church Jesus is coming back for!
