23.20 The Anatomy of Failure (Part 2)

In this second part of a two part message Craig's titled The Anatomy of Failure, he reviews the steps to failure the Children of Israel experienced when they came into possess the Promised Land.  Though promised by God, Israel had the opportunity of believing and trusting God and His word, or yield to the temptation of compromise and fail in their attempts at trusting in the God who keeps all His promises.  Israel's slide into ultimately syncretism and sleeping with the enemy started small and grew into a giant free fall into intimacy with the God's of the Canaanites and other tribes living in the land God had promised to Israel.  Their slide into syncretism is how people of every generation since do it as well.  Not one giant leap, but small, incremental, and seemingly insignificant steps take us deeper than we ever wanted to go, costing us way more than we ever wanted to pay, and keeping us longer than we ever wanted to stay.  Sound familiar?  Why not learn from the mistakes of others so we don't have to repeat those mistakes in our generation?  The Anatomy of Failure is an important study on how obedience is THE most important thing God expects out of us, and how we can stay committed to a lifetime of obedience, resulting in some amazing provisions, protection, and empowering by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
