In lieu with this law, G-d’s desire is that every spiritual inspiration of yearning to the Above, must manifest itself in a physical action down here below. Spirituality, emotions and inspirations are all but fuel, which needs to pass through the fuel-injection line, into the motor of actions. Otherwise, the fuel is a powerful and even pleasurable waste of time and energy. Filled with promises, dreams, goals and aspirations, but with no dividends or any returns at all. In Jewish mysticism, the ebb of inspiration, which does not lead directly into the flow of action, is called death, as the soul which leaves its body. Yet, how often do we read books of Torah-inspiration, secular self-help or biographies of those who have succeeded, and we feel alive with hope and with inspiration, but to have the balloon of action popped, and the air of inspiration escaping. In this lecture we are going to explore the After Death, in how we resurrect after the escaped inspiration, to truly living a better life. The lecture is based on a talk of the Rebbe, delivered in 1965, exploring the opening verse of our Torah-portion (-Leviticus 16:1), “And G-d spoke to Moses after the death of Aaron's two sons.”
