23. Andy Loney and Darcy Elks - 50 Years Separated Them. One Journey United Them

He was 70 when he decided that he still had it in him! Even the decision to trek to Everest Base Camp over 13 days separates Andy Loney, a grandfather of 6, as unique.  One of his companions was a beautifully curious, 'let me tackle the world', 21-year-old. His name was Darcy Elks. Darcy strode to Everest Base Camp with confidence and assurance. Andy finished up needing a horse to get him to the base of Sagarmartha. He had never ridden one! Darcy still had energy the next morning to take on a bigger challenge ... the ascent of Kala Patthar to 5600 metres.
