23: Armageddon (w/ Jenn Wexler)

Episode 23 sees Andy and Mitch joined by Jenn Wexler, producer for Glass Eye Pix and OF Mickey Keating's Darling and Psychopaths. Jenn is also the director the opening film from Frightfest 2018, The Ranger! Her chosen film? Armageddon! Directed by the Master of Mayhem, Michael Bay, and featuring a gargantuan, and frankly brilliant, cast, Armageddon is the summer blockbuster you love to hate, despite it being the highest grossing film of 1998. Is the hate valid? Is there more to this driller thriller than meets the eye?   The synopsis is as follows:  When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper, who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J., who Harry thinks isn't good enough for his daughter, until the mission proves otherwise.
