This week on the podcast, I have the amazing Ileri Jaiyeoba from Code Red Collective on the show. In 2015 Ileri Jaiyeoba established Code Red Co. as an organization pushing for an end to period poverty in the city of Atlanta, fast forward to now, Code Red Co. has grown into being a co-powering collective cooperative that functions to promote period wellness and de-stigmatization through literacy, aid, and advocacy. The Code Red Co. Cooperative is full of coordinators from different backgrounds and of all ages working in collective effort to advocate on behalf of menstruators period wellness needs. Ileri is an excellent example of taking your own personal experience and turning it into a mission to help others. After dealing with painful periods for years, she thought of other women who did not have the resources she did and set out to help them. Her story is powerful and truly inspiring. Tune in this week as Ileri shares about what inspired her to start Code Red Collective, fighting for menstrual equity, and standing up for what she believes in.
