23 - Chi è J.Robert Oppenheimer, il padre della bomba atomica

J. Robert Oppenheimer è nato a New York il 22 aprile 1904 e in poco tempo è diventato un grande fisico, passato alla storia per essere stato il direttore scientifico del Progetto Manhattan, cioè quell'operazione statunitense top-secret il cui obiettivo era quello di dar vita alla bomba atomica prima che lo facessero i nazisti. In pochi mesi lui e le migliaia di persone che presero parte al progetto realizzarono Gadget, il primo prototipo di bomba atomica, sganciata il 16 luglio 1945 durante il famoso Test Trinity. Poco tempo dopo altre due bombe - Little Boy e Fat Man - verranno sganciate su Hiroshima e Nagasaki.
