23 Daniel

Continuing on with the vision that Daniel saw, there appears an additional animal like vision, a male goat that he describes as a he-goat. This he-goat comes out of the west which would be in Europe to the mid-east. This he-goat has one very visible single horn protruding out from between its eyes. Now this he-goat comes close to the ram full of anger, breaking its horns eliminating it power over him and trampled upon it so that no other enemy of the he-goat could come to the aid of the ram. This victory caused the he-goat to sense a massive infusion of pride over this victory. In his strength his great horn was broken and instead of a single horn it developed into four new horns replacing the single one directed toward the four winds of heaven. The ram was powerless to defend himself and the goat subjugated the ram. The greatness that had characterized the ram now belonged to the goat. Previously none could escape from the ram's power; now none could escape from the goat. As soon as the goat was elevated to great power, his large single horn was broken off, and its place was taken by four prominent horns. The characteristics of this goat is similar to a previous beast that Daniel saw. Previously it was a leopard that had 4 wings. Both were imbued with strength and swiftness. The leopard had four heads. whereas the goat had four horns. Daniel did not understand the nature of these visions.
